Some good points...I think something we overlook is that CS philosophy at FSU was a "bend dont break' defense that if I recall lived off turnovers...the other teams errors.
I think it's really apparent in interviews Coach is NOT comfortable with the offensive side...there have been occaisions when speaking of defense he gets almost mad scientist speaking of positions, angles, lanes, coverage.. on offense it's usually 'behind in the chains'.
My brother has seen old vids of Woody Hayes, Warren Moon and others. Successful coaches all come back to 'use what works'. Hayes pointed out his rep for 3 yards and a cloud of dust belied the fact that his teams would lead the conference in passing as well...or at least be in the top ranks.
One dimensional offenses normally get caught up to unless you are exceptionally....and I mean exceptionally good at a method...the Georgia Tech Triple option...(which likely injured more d linenen in the nation with chop and crack back blocks)... Air Force and their running.
But back to an earlier point someone had...when I watch Coach, I see more of a passionate defensive coordinator than an overall coach.
