I don't have a problem with hunting per se. I have several friends that hunt including my bro.-in-law, and a couple of his sons. I was raised by a father who neither hunted nor fished. I imagine that's the reason I'm not into it. I'm too soft hearted as well. I suppose I could kill if my life depended on it. I'm glad it doesn't.

I don't object to hunting and I watch hunting shows occasionally; but I like seeing the country and the animals walk in far more than the shot.

Even though I have hunted plenty, I find that if I were see a robust trophy specimen in the wild, my want is to admire it and leave it be. Especially if we are talking deer, elk, and bear although I don't hesitate to go on those trips if asked.
Having said that, I love hunting upland birds and continue to as often as I can.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... Sounds like an incredible trip, regardless of the lack of bull sightings. Quite a pace you guys set, too. Good on ya'.
The trip was amazing. It was the most grueling, exhausting, mentally and physically draining trip I could have imagined. We saw everything but bull elk, though. It was a successful trip and I hope to do it again sometime. We hunted sun up to sun down six days in a row putting in an average of seven miles a day. There isn't much like being out in that type of country.
My wife, a couple of friends and I are heading out to Montana early this summer. Going to spend a few days in Glacier and the surrounding areas.Comment

^^^I was driving this morning in Clarksville, In., just a couple of miles from downtown Louisville and saw a large flock of hens walking around in the parking lot of a new Mennard's right off I-65. I hope your daughter wants to go!!! Sounds like a lot of fun.Comment

My buddy has lived out there four years now. He set the pace, I struggled behind him and only kept up in fear of not finding my way back without him.

I had planned on buying one, but my Dad surprised me on my birthday with this beauty. He has a few ARs and decided to give me this one. He put a 3lb. Timney trigger on it and I can't wait to try it. I believe it comes stock with like 9 or 10 lb.. He had the optic already on it with the magnifier. I am going to move it up as far as I can and grab me some nice metal flip up iron sights then deck it out with some Magpul furniture. I like a forward grip for sure on rifles such as these.Isaiah 5:20Comment

Went to Peabody yesterday and absolutely slayed the bluegills. My partner and I were bank beating it. It is really hard to find bank fish there as accessability is suspect at best. I knew of a little lake that rarely gets fished and had a ball. We caught 49 nice ones all on wax worms under small slip bobbers pegged with 3 bb split shots. I will post pics when i can get to a laptop as mine bit the dust.Isaiah 5:20👍 1Comment
