My friends and I had a camp on an old mine 3 miles outside of Beaver Dam. One of the lakes was 35 acres. We built a cabin and a 40' pier out into the lake. It was awesome. We found out early that an electric filet knife, or two, were well worth the expense. We could knock out 100 gills in an hour. One guy with the knife and another guy trimming out the ribs.

Quicker but you miss SO much meat. My technique, I get all the meat. The shoulder, tail, and flap. You can't get all that going electric. I am really fast with my method. I have 100 or so gills already this year. One more good mess of 25-30 and it'll be time to just Bass fish. An "old mine outside Beaver Dam" sounds like Peabody to me. I go there a few times every year. Just an awesome place to fish.
