Surveyor, a man of your wisdom and good tastes might do well to consider a canoe, if there are areas locally where you could enjoy it. Takes up little space, requires no fuel, and most of all is fun!
Where / what lake is this?

Has been a wonderful spring turkey hunting season. Lots of good experiences in the woods and meat in the freezer! Statewide harvest looks like is going to be right in line with the last several years.

Hit McNeely today after work and caught these nice ones. They were on the beds and furious but would not hit anything. And I threw everything at 'em. Over heard some boaters say that they couldn't get them to hit either. I was fishing from the bank so I caught these the last 2 hours at least 10 feet from the bank in 3-6 feet of water. Caught all 20 but one on a spinning outfit with an adjust-a-bubble, 3 bb split shots "10 from the #6 long shank tipped with a wax worm. I 'magine the action there is fixin to really heat up and they will be biting from the nest. Caught around 20 bluegill and 2 bass. But I only kept these beauties. I don't like keeping little ones. I'll go back in a few days and hope to fill the basket. It was a great day to be outside.

I've been trying to upload a picture of my turkeys but it keeps saying they are too large. Anyway, I killed one turkey opening morning. He was 22 pounds, 10 1/2 inch beard, and spurs a little over an inch. Tagged out with my second bird Thursday. He weighed over 24 pounds, 11 inch beard, and one inch spurs. Funny thing is, I hunt 330 acres of private land and killed them both within 20 yards of each other!

Probably Matt. Didn't measure. It was the biggest bluegill i ever caught. It was a female who already dropped her eggs and had moved out to deeper water. She bent my hook all to hell and I had to retie. A fun fight for sure.

Caught a bunch of trout on the headwaters of the Chattahoochee on Saturday. I've got the fever now. I love catching fish in very small waters. We released most of them but kept a couple of stockers to cook over the fire before we went home. Very good day
Wish that I was on ol Rocky Top

Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

I saw that video the other night at work. Pretty sure that's a Goliath Grouper. I've seen people catch monsters by bridge pillings such as those. I'd be scared to death reeling in something that big on something so small and close to the water like that.
