Spirit, it's just the regular xd. There's a lot I love about it. It's got a nice triggeral well. I thought it would be rather snappy due to the 3" barrel but I haven't had any problems. Had it about 3 years now. Thinking of getting a crimson trace for it and night sights as well.

Right! I originally got it to carry when I bow hunt. Coyotes are getting bad around here, but the wolves are worse out west. People don't know it, but wolves are up to 150 pounds and hunt to kill. They will kill whatever gets in their way and leave it. I solo hunt Colorado and Idaho at least once a year. They aren't in Colorado if you ask DOW, but anyone who has spent time in the mountains will tell you they are there. The DOW just doesn't want to announce it because it might keep away out of state hunters. It doesn't take too many trips or encounters with predators to realize you are better off carrying more than a bow and arrow that will only give you one shot! After I carried it hunting I realized how comfortable it was and just started carrying it as my every day gun.Comment

FINALLY got to shoot a couple mags out of the Stubby Little Basterd, and it's too much fun. I don't have the best vision on the WCN, but was able to hit soda cans almost too easily at around 50 yards. I then fired 3 shots at a box from the prone position, sans sling, and had a group around .75"...which to me is awesome using ammo that was $9.97 a box and considering my point of aim was the red "Miller High Life" emblem on the box, ha.
I'm not saying that have yet to miss...but I think almost every shot out of the gun was close enough to move a can sitting on the ground.
I look forward to stretching it out some, and making some reference marks on my elevation turret.

Here is a pic of the model I have.
We had a bit of a comedy of errors for the maiden voyage. It was me, my buddy and my 9 year old son my friend has two boats that are the same as mine. We put in right below Canoe KY and took out at Stillwater Campsite (think that was the name). When we were unloading the boats, my friend realized he had forgotten his fishing rods in Lexington, my son was using my boat because if he damaged it, at least it was mine (he had never done a float before). as my friend was launching him, the oar got stuck under the boat and bent it in half. We ended up tethering him to me which made for some interesting times headed through the whitewater (one very scary situation). after the first whitewater, my son got pretty scared and I had to talk him down from a panicked state. After calming him down he realized his rod was missing and that it fell into the creek at somepoint in the last 5 minutes (now we are down to one pole). It was too much for me to fish and take care of a scared kid and navigate/row for the two of us so I gave my friend my pole and he caught 5 SM pretty quickly. Once my son got used to the rapids he was fine and ended up fishing some (he caught one). I even got a chance with my own rod and caught three in about 20 casts. We put in at 9:30 am and pulled out at 2:30 pm. To top it off, I forgot to put the balogna sandwiches in the cooler! We did have some Jerky but we were pretty hungry by the time we were done.
All in all we had a good time 3 men, 1 pole 9 fish and no lunch! It will make for a great memory for my son through.1 PhotoThey call me "Thread Killer"

^It happens to us all. My buddies used to call me The Bumbling Fisherman. I used to always have some sort of trouble. Breaking an oar, dropping my cricket tube in the water, breaking a pole, losing an anchor. I could go on but I won't,lol. Haven't had any incidents in a while but I seemed to have passed my old ways onto a buddy of mine. I tell him he learned from the master.Isaiah 5:20Comment

luukfan, you guys will have it down next time. The first time I went to Elkhorn Creek, I had recently bought my canoe and I managed to get turned around in some of the currents as well. Luckily I knew to duck down flat and I avoided any head injuries from running into limbs/roots that stick out near the water.
Speaking of Bumbling Fishermen, my college roommate once lost an outboard motor to the depths of Grayson lake. It was running and he tried to adjust something, then the C-Clamps came looseIt stopped running shortly thereafter and was never seen again!
Here's how it's supposed to be done, I guess:
