Went to the grocery a few minutes ago to pick up a few items. 4 to be exact. Saturdays are busy. Went to a "12 items or less" check out. There were 4 stations. I was 3rd in line, with a couple of people behind me, waiting for an empty check out. There was a man was talking on his cell phone. Had 1 more item to scan. My turn came and he was still talking. Was gone when I turned around to leave. Really????? I wasn't in a hurry, but still. How rude can you be? Wasn't in a hurry, but could not believe he was doing that. And it wasn't a young man. Maybe I am getting to be an old, crotchety lady in my old age.

There are still some good, polite and courteous folks. But, a person on a cell phone and pushing a cart at Wal Mart is not one of them. That's a dangerous situation.John 3:3

The inclement weather has caused this annoyance to come to the fore.
The last few days with rain in the early daylight hours - 6:45-7:00 am, or late evening before sundown - I've encountered a number of morons who won't turn their lights on. All but 1 or 2 were grey or black vehicles.
This morning, pulling out from our subdivision in the pouring rain, I almost pulled out in front of a black Nissan SUV with its lights off. As I slowly caught up to her, I turned my lights on and off a few times thinking she'd get the hint.
Nothing.
Oncoming traffic was flashing their lights at her or turning theirs off - nothing. I tried a few more times with the lights and she would slow down to about 15 mph - I guess thinking I'm being an asshole to her. Never phased her at all.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

The second time I lied and said I forgot I needed another item and pretended to "shop" and then went and waited in a regular line.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. I've been to stores where the express (Kroger is 15 or less) is empty, the cashier is standing out front and I've got a full cart and am looking for a line. Twice I've been motioned into the express line. The first time, I declined and she insisted. Within a minute of her scanning my items, someone comes in behind me and gets exasperated. The cashier apologizes that she invited me because she had no customers.

I was part of a funeral procession to the Middletown Cemetery yesterday from Ratterman's on Shelbyville Rd. It was after 3. It was a long procession. Could not believe how many cars were following, not part of the procession, trying to cut in line and go thru the lights as well as making their turn quicker. So sad people do this.Comment
