I submit that the problem is that particular woman rather than the activity in question.

Texting is merely another form of distracted driving. I've seen women in rush hour traffic driving slow in the left lane to put on make up. They hold the left lane at a slower speed because they know there will be a gap ahead of them.
I've seen people brushing their teeth, shaving, reading the newspaper draped on their steering wheel, watching videos on their laptop on the center arm rest, eating a fast food baked potato with the container in their lap, spaghetti, reading a book, reading a magazine.................
I travel about 33k miles a year in a pickup truck and get to see a lot of stupid stuff.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Agree on the cell phones. Sometimes I wish a solar flare would make quick work out of them all.
Discovered a new one today. The Coughing Disease. You know what i am talking about. Someone coughs and then the whole room feels like they have to. You almost always know what order they go in. It got so bad at jury duty today that the lawyers and the judge were even giving the "Are you serious?" look.

If we're talking the use of a Bluetooth mic or a car speaker thing like most newer cars like mine have, then I'd agree it's no different than carrying on another conversation. If it's old school holding the phone up to your ear, I would suggest that's pretty distracting. Depending on how you're holding it, it can reduce your view or your ability to look around you.

I know, but no one thinks speaking while driving be made illegal. I think talking on a phone is over stated as a high risk behavior. If someone is dumb enough to lose focus while talking on the phone and driving, the problem in my view is with the individual.

Again, I don't think it's the conversation, I think it's the physical act of holding a phone and trying to keep it in place that people struggle with. No different than changing the radio or other things that people struggle with. It diverts your attention off the road.

Grocery shopping...several things can get on my nerves. Not my favorite thing to do. What about someone who is looking over their receipt in the Self-Check line and not moving their bags in to their cart and/or standing at the end of the isle in front of the bags. I understand wanting to look over your receipt, but can you move a couple of feet so I can start getting my stuff checked and bagged?

My sister in law used to call like clockwork everyday on her way home from work. One day I asked how she could have so much to talk about. Her answer "I get bored driving so I call to take my mind off of driving." I told her that was probably the stupidest thing I ever heard anyone say. And got no argument from her sister, parents or husband. And she quit calling.

Had my oil changed yesterday. There is a Valvoline .5 miles from my house so I go there. The person shouting commands annoys me. I understand there is someone underneath the car and someone checking lights, wipers, tire pressure, etc. Don't like it. Yesterday was entertaining because the shouter was training a guy. He tore my air filter getting it out to check on it. Got a new one, no charge 🙂

The Inauguration, today, reminded me of another one. These morons out damaging people's property and putting lives at risk with their stupid protests. That and the three stooges (Baldwin, DeNiro, and Moore) with their protest. When are they going to realize that, at the end of the day, these protests change nothing?

Exactly. It's President Trump now. Regardless of what any of us care to think about it. If you choose to live in this country he is your president.

Broke my heart to see what damage was done to businesses and the limo that got set on fire. Hope this isn't going to be the norm from now on. Got a hunch had the other candidate gotten elected, it would have been bad too. These celebs get on my nerves big time no matter who they are supporting. I will be in downtown Lexington late this afternoon. Hope to be walking from the hotel (little over a mile away) to Rupp. Hope all the Marches are over. A shame that has to be a concern

In my opinion, it'll blow over in time. Once the protesters realize they're not accomplishing anything they'll go away, if they have any sense at all. A case in point is the Black Lives Matter movement has really quieted down, at least as far as marches go.
