Things or sayings that are annoying

Was booking a hotel in Lexington yesterday. Several said free breakfast. Why not say breakfast included? Is the word "free" that big of a marketing tool. Could also put free parking in that category 🙂

There are so many things that annoy me, I wouldn't know where to start.

That is marketing. Free makes it sound like they are giving you a bargain and taking a big hit in their profit to make you more comfortable. We know they are not but still eat their free breakfast and park our cars free of charge with a smile on our face.

One thing that irritates me is when someone, usually an athlete, is being interviewed and they start off every answer with "you know". No I don't know. That is why you are being asked a question.

One of my many annoyances is people who have handicap stickers, because of a family member (some do not even have a sticker), that park in handicap spaces. I see this a lot at the local Wal-Mart.

People were doing this at work a few years ago. Some didn't even have stickers. A bunch came out one morning after work and their vehicles had been towed. It was ten vehicles or so. They were pissed. I was laughing. Served them right.
A big peeve of mine are people who gef FMLA and use it because they just don't wanna work or they have somewhere to go. A guy I work with uses a FMLA day everg Friday before a UL football game. That pisses me off to no end.

Similarly, the people who use the motor scooters at a store when their only hindrance is being fat. Several years ago, we had a friend who tore her ACL in a skiing accident. A few weeks after surgery, she went to the grocery and had to use a motorized cart and got mean-mugged by an overweight lady.

People who let kids have the sound on and loud when playing games on their electronic devices. Especially in restaurants!!

People who are certain that someone is too healthy or mobile to be using a motorized scooter in the store.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

I don't worry about someone driving someone else's car with a handicapped plate. I've seen enough instances of a younger person driving-chauffeuring an elderly person who still needs that close access to get in the store.
Saw a young lady years ago get berated for parking in a handicapped space with a tag, only to go in and return with an elderly gentleman on her arm.

A municipality we do work for had a former councilman who incessantly used the term "in my mind" when offering an opinion or thought on a proposal.

"In my mind, a rate increase right now wouldn't be prudent". "In my mind, the mayor is not thinking this issue through ti its logical conclusion".

Someone offering an exhaustive summary on a situation with a difficult or impossible solution, followed by, "It is what it is", or the BONUS two-fer, "At the end of the day, it is what it is".

A lot of my pet peeves involve driving. Another one is these people who come at you the wrong way in parking lots and you have to move over to let them squeeze through. One morning I had just parked at the Corbin Wal-Mart. I was either the second or third vehicle from the end. I looked to my left (the direction any vehicles should have been coming from) and stepped out from behind the vehicle next to mine. At that very moment, here came someone in from the wrong direction and came within an eyelash of hitting me.

"You know what i'm sayin'?" I hate that one. I got a buddy who always goes to the "Mama always said..." line. Who do you think you are? Bobby Boucher?

Also, "I'm the type of person who..." and "Me, personally..." really get to me.
