But how do you know that? Did you talk to Cal? Or maybe you just watched the play and understood what happened.

When have we ever absolutely needed a basket and not let Ulis touch the ball to start the play?

He didn't have the ball to score. Why can you not understand that? He had the ball to get it to Murray.

The way he pointed at Murray suggested he was trying to get that side action they always run. Murray might've driven it and kicked it back out, but I think they want the ball in Murray's hands when they need a shot.

They went to him on the previous possession when he hit the (very tough) shot and I think they were trying it on that one too. Ulis just rushed it and I'm not sure Murray read the play the right way.

Murray gets lost a little on both ends. Easy to forget he's a freshman.

Problem with Murray is he's not used to playing with the ball out of his hands and at times he gets lost, it's turned him into a jump shooter. He never reallly seemed to get in sync and in the flow of the game in the second half. That stretch in the second half we went cold Ulis and Bricsoe did there thing and Murray wasn't involved. Murray frustrates me at times but with volume and streaky shooters they have to be involved......

Really? Did you not see all the different ways Ulis scored tonight? He drove the lane and hit shot after shot. I that situation he should have the ball in his hands 100 times out of 100.

It was designed for Murray. You could even see Ulis peer coaching Murray after the play (which Ulis missed/was fouled on) and Murray accepting it. They had been cramming down on Ulis after the first half, and the play seemed (before, during, and in the after-action) to have been designed to use Ulis to draw (which he did) and then kick (which he was unable to).

Easy to forget he's still tring to play the game without the ball in his hands.. Murray is used to being a point guard, not a two standing guard cutting and trying to get open...

One thing this game does is that it makes you kick yourself over Ohio State and Auburn.

Win those two games as we should've and we're 19-3 and sitting pretty for a 2/3 seed.

As it is we're still probably in the 5/6 range and can't afford any more slip-ups. But we're likely going to lose at least three more, as we have some TOUGH games on the road left.

Probaly going to lose 9 or 10 games.

No one on this planet familiar with Kentucky basketball, other than Jworld, Murray''s mom, and maybe Jon Hood would do anything on that last possession other than let Ulis create a play and look for Murray. Both guys made mistakes on the play, it happens. I like my chances with the ball in the hands of Ulis considering he really only makes one or two mistakes per game. He didn't choke, he didn't cost us the game, and he didn't fold. He was the reason we were in the game from the beginning and every single player made mistakes that hurt our chances at winning the game. If I had to draw up a play in that situation 1000 times, Ulis has the ball in his hands every single time. I am willing to be 99% of the fan base agrees.

I was simply repeating a ridiculous question that was asked when I said the same exact thing you did.

He isn't a franchise player but I do think he's turned himself into a NBA player. For a guy his size that's rarefied air in the history of the game of basketball.

That's how good that guy is. Legendarily good. I think he's the best pure basketball player outside of Anthony Davis Cal has had.

What he's done over the last three weeks may not have been matched by anybody we've seen since Issell. It's just every night. Never seen anything like it except for the stuff Davis was doing his freshman year.

When Ulis makes a mistake I have to stare at the screen in amazement for a few seconds. The guy is just amazing.

The way i see it, in those situations, Briscoe needs to be the one driving and kicking to either A. Murray or B. Ulis. Briscoe is a liabilty on the perimeter and teams know it. Deny Murray the ball, put a bigger man on Ulis, and let Briscoe shoot it all day long. Pretty simple if your Bill Self or any other coach in D1 basketball............
