Not a bad loss. They went out, played hard, and fought a good team in one of the toughest environments in sports. If we get Lee to stop committing stupid fouls we will get better. Hard to be upset with the strides we have made in the last two weeks.

The thing is I don't think the refs were that bad. We just have a few players who apparently don't know what it means to stand/jump straight up.

Played hard. Played with emotion. Did not play smart in the 2nd half. Self's adjustments were just a little better than Cal's. Selden was huge for KU. We showed we have come a long way but still have a ways to go.

Still not sure what the deal is with our bigs. It would be nice to see more than 1 big at a time have a decent game. We need our bigs to stop having the best seat in the house to watch our guards. At least at times during the game Murray and our bigs caused the double teams that TU was having to try to fight through.

Briscoe played tough but reverted in the FT department.

I dont know how many they got right but I saw several calls that were just as well no calls. The way it was called perhaps it was technically a foul but with that type of calling you just cant finish, lee and Willis couldnt, Poythress barely did. I would understand more if we werent that atheletic but we are.

But ULIS was hindered going to the basket many times and there were no calls. Do not think this game was called that great in the 2nd half. Not terrible but not great.

We absolutely had to win the game in regulation. We had no bodies to play in that environment late.

But for 30 minutes, UK did everything they had to do. The junk defense kept KU in it but we had all the fouls called on us. Weird!

I agree it was called tight and think they should've let them play a little more, but I don't blame the amount of fouls or free throw on anyone but our players. We are still going over the back and not keeping our arms straight up. Those two things alone were every bit of eight or nine fouls tonight which could have been 15 or so free throw attempts.

I am surprised no one has mentioned Murray and his lack of ability on the defensive end. I know he plays hard, but he just isn't a good defender. He was lost out there against Seldon. I think Cal should have switched and put Briscoe on him or tried Matthews more. I know Briscoe helped limit Graham and Mason, but once they were out of rhythm I think Murray would've been better on them. I think we should always do our best to adjust our best defender on the hottest hand.
