Problem with Murray is he's not used to playing with the ball out of his hands and at times he gets lost, it's turned him into a jump shooter. He never reallly seemed to get in sync and in the flow of the game in the second half. That stretch in the second half we went cold Ulis and Bricsoe did there thing and Murray wasn't involved. Murray frustrates me at times but with volume and streaky shooters they have to be involved......

He's had 20 games to get used to it and he understands his role quite well. He just makes mistakes like everyone else. Ulis doesn't come out of the game too often and when he isn't starting the offense it is Briscoe. That is a good excuse the first few games, but not when half of the season is gone.

Of course,, he's a top 5 pick this year. Every team just chomping to build a franchise around him, i get it..................

What on earth does that have to do with anything? Simple fact is that Ulis carried them tonight and he did it by driving, creating and making shots all over the place. Why when the game is on the line would it make the first bit of sense to go away from that?

No one on this planet familiar with Kentucky basketball, other than Jworld, Murray''s mom, and maybe Jon Hood would do anything on that last possession other than let Ulis create a play and look for Murray. Both guys made mistakes on the play, it happens. I like my chances with the ball in the hands of Ulis considering he really only makes one or two mistakes per game. He didn't choke, he didn't cost us the game, and he didn't fold. He was the reason we were in the game from the beginning and every single player made mistakes that hurt our chances at winning the game. If I had to draw up a play in that situation 1000 times, Ulis has the ball in his hands every single time. I am willing to be 99% of the fan base agrees.

Agree totally.

Ulis is the best player on the team. The quarterback of the team. The heart and soul.

When this season is over, we may all look back and realize just how much of a physical toll we (read, Cal) have taken/asked of him.

I hope we're blessed with another year of him.

The way i see it, in those situations, Briscoe needs to be the one driving and kicking to either A. Murray or B. Ulis. Briscoe is a liabilty on the perimeter and teams know it. Deny Murray the ball, put a bigger man on Ulis, and let Briscoe shoot it all day long. Pretty simple if your Bill Self or any other coach in D1 basketball............

But that isn't what happened. They didn't deny Murray the ball. What happens when Briscoe is driving and gets fouled? Ulis having the ball creating is our best option. He can hit the mid range jumper, make foul shots, and is our best passer. With that little time left it really becomes a two man game. The play was there, our guys just didn't finish it. It wasn't that Self figured out the play and called a better one. We just didn't execute.

Again, Ulis played a great game all night long and he chocked at the end, IT IS WHAT IT IS. He's the point and he lost his handles on the drive, UK didn't even get a shot off or have a opportunity to get to the line or win it............

So getting double teamed and turning the ball over means you chocked? Been a lot of great players chock then cause it has happened to anyone who ever played the game.

If Briscoe makes his free throws we would have won. Missed three by Murray, turnover doesn't matter. I blame Briscoes missed freethrows.

But since we all want to get all technical and ***,, forget about Ulis and his turnover. Mason walked on his half court shot and the damn travel should have been called which would have given Kentucky the ball back with about 1.2 seconds on the clock...

Tom Brady lost in the conference title this year. Maybe the Patriots should play another QB. Sure, he turned it over but it wasn't entirely on him. He turns it over so rarely it doesn't make sense to do anything but go to him.

Im not going to argue with you on that, Murray was taken out of the game and he left Briscoe in knowing damn well he's a liability on the line,, stupid!!!!!!!!!! Why would Cal do that???? Blows my freaking mind... Bricsoe played great all night long but when it's crunch time, let him do the driving and kicking to either A. Murray or B. Ulis. If not it's very simple, defend Ulis with a bigger guard and deny Murray the ball, let Briscoe shoot all day long or let him drive so a big can put him on the line,, it's that simple.................
