Agree 100%. There needs to be some type of cap on this for teams. Some type of tier salary for players.
you pay a guy top tier money only if he is projected to be a top player on tbe roster.
For players projected to be a notch below the top talent they drop down a tier in pay.
Projected bench players that should be in the rotation tier 3 pay.
For Freshmen that are not top ones players that are likely to be more of a project tier 4.
If a player emerges and does far better than projected. Cracks the starting lineup. You could always adjust payment
This wouldn't be easy. But some kind of a salary cap tier needs to be in place for all schools. Doesn't have to be a firm set in stone number but some type of a soft cap. One school with a 30 million dollar payroll and another with a 2 million dollar payroll in the same conference shouldn't happen.

If he signs with the Cats, I think he could help elevate the team to a top 10 position. We look real solid at both guard spots, good at the 4 and 5. He and Kam bring the 3 position to another level. IF Pope can manage the minutes between 10 to 12 player this could be a team to be reckoned with.

      FINGERS CROSSED!

Honestly, on paper, this looks like a 8-9 man rotation team with Momcilovic.

8 veterans plus Hawthorne or N’Diaye. Depends on which one emerges. I really don’t trust international guys and Freshmen are hard to predict (especially coming off a redshirt year), so I figure one of the two will end up in the 9th man role. N’Diaye has the size and experience (albeit international) edge, but Hawthorne probably has more talent and skill. If neither one emerges, then we’ve got 8 proven vets to rotate in. I think by tourney time, it will be a tight 8-man rotation.

        G Diallo(30)/Morton(10)
        G Wilkins(30)/Morton(5)/Williams(5)
        F Momcilovic(30)/Williams(10)
        F Williams(15)/McBride(25)
        C Moreno(25)/Kepnang(15)

        Momcilovic- 30mpg
        Wilkins- 30mpg
        Diallo- 30mpg
        Williams- 30mpg
        Moreno- 25mpg
        McBride- 25mpg
        Kepnang- 15mpg
        Morton- 15mpg

That is what I am expecting.

If we don’t get Momcilovic, then look
for Hawthorne and N’Diaye to split those minutes.

I just hope the mass substitution patterns fall by the wayside

I don't mind substitutions as long as they make sense. What I don't like is when he pulls a hot player, or leaves a cold player in too long, etc. If he's learned who to substitute and when to substitute, I'm fine with that.

I like what you’re saying. BUT Pope has shown a desire to go deeper than that whether they are contributing or not. All part of his analytics as well as trying to keep too many guys and their agents happy. He really must drop that part of it if he wants a long career at UK. Put your best team on the floor, Coach.

Matt Norlander is now predicting that Momcilovic will commit to Kentucky, and he thinks that the official announcement will take place on Monday. He said it might happen tonight or tomorrow, but no later than Monday....which I guess correlates with what was being reported when he announced that he was returning to college that he planned to announce his decision "quickly".

It's reading things like the above that just reinforces these "experts" are trying to live off wild guesses and fooling people. They are all frauds and I don't understand why more people don't see that.

He's basically saying he might commit sometime or he might not, but he's using words that give it a whiff of credibility.

Clearly the "experts" know nothing about anything.

He hasn't taken a visit anywhere to the best of my knowledge.

He stated he would not take any visits. Said he has been there done that and does not need to see campus or facilities.

Now that you say that, I think maybe I heard that awhile back and forgot.

Moral of the story....if you're a top 15-20 guy in the portal, test the NBA waters, pull out at the last minute and watch your value skyrocket for teams desperate to add a final piece. I think he might have doubled his worth by waiting this out instead of finding a new team early in the process.
