If I toss out the Covid Cats and focus on those who played significant minutes here.

    1. Wheeler
    2. Harrow
    3. Stone
    4. Allison
    5. Skal

Some of those made significant contributions. All of them frustrated me to no end and were never as good as I thought they could/should be.

I think some people might be taking this the wrong way. There's absolutely nothing wrong with saying a kid didn't live up to expectations. I won't call them duds, busts, or anything else, but my "Underperformed Expectations Team"

      GJ Vilarino
      CJ Frederick
      Alex Legion
      Matt Pilgrim
      Daniel Orton

6th man to provide shooting off the bench:
      Josh Carrier

      Oh, and George Wilgus Tolson

Dakota Euton is another blast from the past that used to be hotly debated. Oddly there's a book about that Scott County team Euton was on that gets into the UK stuff a little. It's a very good book if you like books about hoops.

I was literally going to reply with Daktoa Euton until I got to your second paragraph. He played at Rose Hill here in Ashland for a little bit. I remember when all of that was going down. He was in something like 8th grade and watching him it was obvious he was never going to play at a place like UK. A quick google search shows he went to Asbury after Akron and is now a pastor in Lexington.

He ended up playing for Oral Roberts. There were a few months there where UK fans were convinced he was coming to UK to be the next Pistol Pete.

Pope needs to pick him up next off-season. All Wilgus needs is a shot.

If we didn’t fire Gillespie and let him go another year or two we would have e became Louisville under Kenny Payne. He was offering and accepting kids who had no business playing D2 basketball.

Not to mention that the players with remaining eligibility were all about to transfer out.

It was going to a complete dumpster fire. He couldn’t have existed beyond year 3.

Thankfully, he never even signed his contract.

                            “Memorandum of Understanding”…remember that?
