    Biggest duds KY starting 5

Since there’s a thread for a favorites starting 5+1, how about least favorites starting 5+1. I imagine this roster will be easier since most players over the years have endeared themselves to fans in one way or another. Doesn’t have to be the worst at the position, could be the ones you liked the least.

    Goodwin
    Carruth
    Sharpe
    Skal
    Carter

I do apologize for my first thread being a downer. I’m not a negative Nancy, but my first post was in the favorites starting five and this seemed like a good adjunct to that.

I started to make a list but then decided against it. I know we all have our least favorite former Cats, but they are still former Cats. I think I would rather show them a measure of respect by not posting their names here. As the old saying goes, if you can't say something good about someone.....

That said, I'm not going to knock anyone for posting a list.

Most of my least favorites came in the latter half of the Cal era. I'll just leave it at that. LOL.

Yeah, I'm the same. Born in 83, my first real memories are of Pitinos teams. Some of the guys in Cal's latter years are who would make my list, I'll leave it there.

              1. Everyone on the 9-21 team not named Isaiah Jackson
              2. The Charles Matthews types that wouldn't put in the work at UK but went on to be key pieces somewhere else
              3. Dragon
              4. Quade
              5. The never ending parade of 5 star one and dones since about 2019 that won a total of like 5 post season games

I tend to have some pity on players who were clearly going through something (Harrow, Dragon), or players who were clearly not ready and put in untenable situations (Harrow, Boston). My biggest pet peeves are guys who clearly have the talent, are older and wiser, and yet STILL go out there and look like they put in about half the effort they should.

One that jumps immediately jumps out is Olivier Sarr. I couldn't stand watching that guy play. He was a little Skal-like...but Skal was young, fish out of water, etc. Sarr just would not mix it up, ever, and that bothered the dog piss out of me.

Another guy who increasingly began to bother me was Ashton Hagans. His inability to hit a shot from two feet became for a time one of the greatest frustrations of my life.

Goodwin played his ass off. This feels like a good post for a troll to feast on.

I'm not a big fan of talking bad about players in general. Specific to this topic, if they are under performing and still starting, that's a coaching issue.

I'm with you KC. Hagans killed me. Wheeler was another one who I thought was a liability. Offensively, it was basically 4 on 5 with him at PG.

Archie Goodwin was a good player on a really mediocre team. He had to do way too much to make up for our lack of scoring.

None of these lists would be complete with Khalil Whitney.

I could name a few that has already been mentioned but JULIUS MAYS.

No way the hobbling midget Julius Mays was better than experienced JON HOOD who practiced against the best of the best on a daily basis..... Hood may have not been the same after the injury but still better than Mays....
