It feels more and more like we’re in trouble no matter what.

I guess Oscar and Bradshaw could still be on next year’s team, but that roster would still have some significant holes.

A roster with Oscar, Bradshaw, Reeves, Johnson, Wagner, Edwards, Dillingham, Onyenso, Sheppard and Thiero is pretty solid. Probably not enough shooting, and depth would be an issue, depending on how much the guys at the end of the bench have improved.

That roster is a big "if," though. We should just prepare for Oscar to be gone.

I think Oscar around playmakers could be something. A lot was made about his defense last year but I don't recall much of that his first year. I think part of it was him but a bigger part was just an absence of take-over-the-game types of players.

Without Oscar is obviously gnarlier to think about, but Onyenso is going to make a jump at some point for somebody--I just don't know if it'll be next season. I really like him but you'd have to wait around while he learned, and that could lean to some funky basketball.

Every year there's a bust-out freshman who leads his team. The SEC has had two superstars the last two years that surprised people. I'm hoping one of our young guys will be in that boat. If you have just one of those players it makes it so much easier on everybody else.

Apparently in the Tucker article yesterday he said that Livingston wanted to leave Kentucky halfway through the season.

I mean...Chris Livingston was a starter. I'm not sure what Cal can really do about that whole deal.

Johnson commitment appears to be imminent.

Technically, he said Livingston’s “camp,” I believe. So, Klutch.

Livingston is only doing the individual stuff at the combine, not the 5 v 5. Which is weird. Almost always guys who are borderline play in the scrimmages (Oscar is).

If he has a promise from a team that would be truly wild.

This decision would support that he's received a promise, right?

I'm not sure that I'd categorize it as "wild." Worse players with less upside have received second round offers, and you know Klutch can boost his prospects.

It's pretty dang wild considering he can't really, you know, play basketball.

He measured at 6'7" and he's explosive, so in that way he fits. But he's a weird player. I don't know if he could be showcased as much as he'd need to be at Kentucky with these guys we have coming in who are going to control the ball, so that's probably the logic. Just lay it all out on a gamble and see if you can fall into a decent situation. I mean Wenyen Gabriel is still out there hanging on.*

                      * Difference: Wenyen could really shoot and he's bigger. Big difference.

The question I have with Livingston is what does he do well? Maybe in a different system he has abilities not utilized at UK.

Rebounds well. Has that freaky bounce NBA players have.

There’s nothing else he excels at. He showed however in those 7 or 8 really good games last year that he could be a really good college player with some consistency.

It seems like we always have a player like this. Keion Brooks, Toppin for awhile. I hope Livingston returns and works out that inconsistency.

Oscar hitting 12 of 25 threes is surprising. How many did he take and hit the past two seasons? This may be enough to get him a offer as he is rebounding pretty good also.
