Got a text this morning that staff thinks Kansas is still leading for Dickinson, which is why Cal has taken point on his recruitment and has been pulling out all the stops.

It was probably better back in the day.

And it actually hasn't been that long since we had to do that. I remember when we got Gerald Fitch's class...I was pretty informed but I hadn't heard of a couple of those guys.

I think this is why "Midnight Madness" had such mystique. Back in those days it was the first time you ever laid eyes on the players.

Only way it may have been better is we didn't have as many expectations (or trepidations) about the players. Maybe we knew they were someone's 'Mr Basketball' but nothing about the AAU circuits, no notice of hangers on, no real info on grade problems or the like. That became more topical after Cal got here...not that he did anything, there was just more info out there.

It might be back a bit in the Jai Lucas / Patrick Patterson recruitment it really picked up.


Before that it was wherever Billy Donovan's plane was flying or if John Calipari was coming out of the door in Memphis.

I like a lot of guys. I hope that Reeves comes back and Livingston but I don't expect Liv to come back. I think Dickerson would be a decent addition but we'll see. But he's still a dbag on the court. I don't believe anything about him coming till he commits though. Farmer was cool. Liked Ford better. Mash all time fav w/probably Fox as the 2nd. Loved WCS, Monk, Towns, Big Mel Turpin, Bennett, Wall, Quickly, & many others. Same w/others from other schools.
