Well, a vaccine is under testing but it still requires clinical testing to make sure it doesn't kill you or have some other side effects that are even worse.

Hopefully this will end in a month or so and we'll go through summer and scientists and healthcare expects can develop more efficient and readily available testing to make the flareup in the fall/winter less costly.

Gotta be very careful of how you're informing yourself.

In all due respect, your information is dangerous, false, and almost breathtakingly stupid. I wouldn't post it. Not here, not on your Facebook feed, not anywhere. I wouldn't say it aloud. Ever. Not today, not in the future, never.

It'll be healthier for you and for whoever you tell it to. Because it's absolutely idiotic.

          All the Facebook stuff.

I have a relative who is terrified of the disease because he thinks it's "political." He's become a virtual shut-in with his teenage son and wife. I'm told he "reads so much" and he fashions himself as an extremely intelligent person. Which he is. But he's also prone to seeing conspiracies in everything, thus something like this virus just wreaks havoc on his mind.

But there are so many bad actors out there who are trying to use our fear to enrich themselves. Don't let them do that. Turn it off and stop spreading it. Conspiracy paranoia is a virus unto itself.

I am more than pleased with the way governor Beshear has stepped up in this crisis. He has outperformed many of his peers by miles.

The senate will do whatever they will. This is a long haul, not a two week fix.

A great meme I read is when this is over, we will be remembered the way we've treated each other.

Or as I relayed to my congregation, "love thy neighbor" doesn't get put on hold at the Walmart or Drug store doors.

I don't know how reputable the New York post is, but if this is factual it's the best news I've heard since this all began.

Dr. Fauci covered this in a press conference over the weekend. There is anecdotal evidence that this drug can help in the treatment of the Coronavirus, but it hasn't undergone rigorous clinical testing to say definitively.

                Still, it's good news.

Like the guy in the article, if I thought I was dying, I wouldn't be worried about testing, FDA approval etc. I'd take anything I could get that I thought might improve my condition. It doesn't sound if he had anything to lose.

True, but there are regulations in place for these drugs and they can't just be handed out on anecdotal evidence. Fauci was talking the other day about the need for clinical trials with this. It stinks that it is that way, but you run the risk of having patients who aren't going to die and who are just sick dying because you've rushed a dangerous drug onto the market.

With situations like this virus there's a lot of hope, and hope sometimes can cloud people's judgments about what is and isn't safe for a large amount of patients.

Right, but apply that across the broad spectrum of society. It’s like interviewing someone who just turned 105 and asking what their secret is and they say “a shot of whiskey everyday” and trying to say whiskey will improve your longevity.

That drug may indeed be the answer, but it isn’t proven yet.

                        2020 Olympics postponed indefinitely.

I would say the NHL and NBA are done for this year. MLB and college football next?

MLB perhaps. College football has several months before they need to make any decision.

That’s for malaria. The compounding effects of a community at large are still unknown.

Have you watched the Doctor in New York who has talked about treating his Covid19 patients with hydro and how it seems to be helping?
Yeah I’m sure you know more than Anthony Fauci.

I've always heard that the only stupid question is the one not asked, so here goes. I can understand the testing part, to see if hydro is an effective method of treatment. The part I don't understand is it's already been approved for treatment of malaria so why does the FDA have to approve it again as a treatment for Covid-19?
