Some kind of pro options does seem to make sense. Far as I know he signed a LOI and thus subject to harsh penalties by leaving UK prior to completing a year at the school.

It's not a bummer, he stunk it up as you pointed out a million times and his per was awful, no more in house bickering and fighting for PT, rotation and minutes are set and clear moving forward...

He has demonstrated he can't yet play at this level, where does he think he is going that will be better? Unless he just wants minutes at a school that won't mind that he can't play at an elite level.

You watch. MANY decent teams will surround him with offers. A 5-star doesn't disappear. As poorly as he's made the adjustment from high school to college.....he will land softly!

No problem IF we give out walk-on positions with talented players. Not sure where we stand, but the walk-on selection has become very political in many programs, with much less emphasis on actual talent.

Hard to say if he can't play at this level or if he can't play at this level yet.

Probably the worst player of the Cal era outside the walk-ons. Almost unfathomably poor given where he was ranked in high school.

IDK Will I saw the athleticism in Diallo too but he couldn't play at UK either

That doesn't matter at all. And like J World said, neither was Whitney, clearly. But they are mirror images of each other at UK. Both about the same size, crazy athletic, can't shoot or dribble very well at all, both from Chicago, both avg about 2pts and 2 rebs in about 10-12 mins, both have a lot of folks around them telling them what's best for them. And Whitney may end up at a Big 10 school as well. It's eerily similar actually.

True to an extent. Matthews at least looked somewhat engaged on the court for us. Whitney just looked like a deer in headlights and his body language was terrible. I wish him luck.
