Musselman at Arkansas made his living on transfers and grad transfers when he was at Nevada. That could be a dark horse in the whole thing.Comment

Everything with Blackshear has been secretive with some misdirection. I am still confident he chooses Kentucky. Will visit next week I believe.
People need to understand that if he comes, UK is the favorite to win it all. Getting him gives UK its best shot at getting #9 since 2014-15.Comment

Very odd because reports were he was visiting Florida today (Friday)....
May be saving Florida for last or already did....Comment

A whole lotta hype for a guy who's going to have to work hard and get lucky to ever step floor on a NBA court, pick a team and be done with it, sheesh.Comment

A prediction:
If Kentucky doesn't get Blackshear, we'll lose 10 to 12 games next year and finish 4th or 5th in the SEC.
Get Blackshear and we'll be #1 in the preseason and win 30+ games (assuming he stays healthy).
This is one of the top four or five most important decisions in the Cal era.
I tend to think Blackshear is very good--particularly at 23 years old in a game dominated by teenagers--but it's more than that. It speaks to how little faith I have in Nick Richards and Kentucky's obvious desperation for frontcourt depth.
This is probably more important than Reid Travis a year ago, primarily because Blackshear has performed against similar competition in the ACC (Travis went against such soft comp at Stanford), but also because this particular team is in great need of a low-post scorer.
I actually don't like our team without him. Very uneven roster.Comment

This decision is more critical than you know.

The two most important factors for Blackshear are showcasing his skills to get drafted, and competing for a Championship. UK is at the top of the list in those two categories and that is ultimately why he will choose UK.Comment

But, I don't understand why a guy like Blackshear would choose anywhere other than UK (from the schools on his list). If he wants national attention, a chance to practice against pros, a chance to play professionally, etc...it makes NO sense for him to go anywhere other than Kentucky. Unless he just wants to go a place where he can be the dude and put up 20+ points per game and thinks that gives him a better chance at future success.Comment
