Montgomery and Richards also left off the G-League Elite Camp invite list.
Basically: they aren't getting drafted and need to come back.

Definitely a head scratcher, I don't think he even got invited to G-league thing either. But that is like saying we wouldnt love to have Reid back next year, some of these guys are just not going to fit in the NBA these days but are still very good college players.Comment

I am really not up on basketball outside of Kentucky and a little more. I had not heard of Blackshear before the possibility of him coming to UK came up. To get all the hype and not be on ANY of the invites kind of makes me wonder if we might not have loftier expectations than we should be having. I'd sure take him though.Comment

Similar to Reid Travis probably. These are guys who can really help college teams but probably don't have much of an NBA future.
He averaged 15 and 8 in the ACC last year. At 23 years old, if he were able to stay healthy (which has also been an issue with him), I have to think he'd be one of the best big men in the country.👍 1Comment

Oddly the first really traditional big man taken in the draft might be Western Kentucky's Charles Bassey. (I don't count Rui Hachimura of Gonzaga here because he plays facing up as much as he does back-to-basket.)
Bassey probably won't go until late first round. These kinds of guys just don't register much in the NBA these days. They want skill and downhill speed from their bigs.Comment

Looking at alot of mock drafts this morning, have a feeling Herro and Johnson are going to be dissapointed on draft night. A few don't even have Keldon in the first round and Herro late first round on some not even listed 1st or second on others. Alot of things can happen but let's call it for what it is, these kids should have stayed.
On a side note, PJ Washington made a good move coming back to college and proving he could shoot the ball, PJ is a solid 1st rounder on every mock draft you look at...Comment
