Johnson and Herro are different caliber of players than Briscoe.

I just point out Briscoe because there seems to be a pervasive thought among some UK fans that the NBA is filled with unbelievable studs who have no flaws. My argument is that we watch our guys so we don't know as much about the flaws that these other players have.

Remember, WCN is a place where most of the posters regularly tell us they watch no college basketball other than UK. You've got to have at least a little feel for what the players look like who are going to be competing for the spots around Herro and Johnson. Our guys are obviously not being drafted in a vacuum.

Heck no matter who goes or stays, we will be young again. Same issues different chapter of the same old novel. We will get excited, find out we are way too young and like most of the current champions (2015 till now for the most part) a more veteran team will win out come April. Just the way the ball bounces. You have to know where you been to get to where you want to go. Just ask Virginia. Worked out well for that group. Demoralized about 50 weeks ago and now on top of the world. If we had the players that should be back (meaning only losing Reid) we would be a legit contender. We will be fools gold again next year. It is what it is. I am sure I will get wrapped up in all the hype and be ready to take on the world again come Next October.

Interesting discussion on Herro and Johnson. I think if they go to the NBA the amount of games they play will be determined by the situational needs of the team that drafts them. The team(s) that draft these guys are more than likely going to be pretty good teams so they may not need a immediate contribution so the G League is their destination. Hope they both come back.

PJ Washington is more than ready to compete in the NBA. Almost the prototypical NBA player.

And again, Virginia should be a model for nothing going forward as it concerns Kentucky. They played virtually no seniors, got an enormous amount of luck, and play an ugly style of basketball that would be supported by virtually no one in the Commonwealth were the team fall on the slightest bit of trouble.

The only thing that bothers me about this past season is that Kentucky was more than good enough to win it. After all the squalling after the Duke game that we didn't have the stars, that we weren't this and weren't that, we sat there and watched a team get a bunch of questionable calls, an intentional missed free throw, and a multitude of good breaks on its way to winning the title.

To me, that stings probably worse than if Duke would've won.

Huge news. Now get in the gym and develop a jumper. He has the ability to be an All-American if he can hit the open shot.

Welcome back Hagans, yesterday was yesterday, clean slate, you can be special if you want it bad enough, point guard situation solved, does Quickly stay or go?

I agree 110%, really liked our team and we had the horses to win it, missed opportunity imo but thats how it goes...

Stays. Hagans, Maxey, Quickley, Baker is a very good 2 deep backcourt.

Brooks, Whitney, and Allen are 3's

Richards, Montgomery, and Sestina are your bigs.

Add one more big and we're good to go.

Think you need another bucket-getter in that group.

Just assuming a big falls to Kentucky here late, having Tyler Herro in that rotation would put Kentucky into the mix for a title. I think we'd be pretty much right where we were a year ago in terms of expectations, and that's all you can ask.

Not sure it's going to happen though. I'd love to see it. Herro would be beloved here on a level not many players have been in the Cal era.

Hurt would be so perfect. A big and a bucket getter. Cal wants him bad and they feel like he's a possibility, but it seems Duke is the winner there. RJ Hampton reclass possibly? Herro coming back would indeed be huge but I just don't think it's happening.

Not sure why it was a surprise. I'm not clear on where Ashton Hagans was going to go, exactly, because it wasn't the NBA.

He can be an NBA player but he has to fix a lot of things in his game, notably his at-times horrendous decision-making.

Because of the Cal era. Orton, Humphries, Gabriel, Briscoe, etc, etc, etc. Has little to do with their abilities all too often. 5 stars in high school usually = 1 year at U.K.
