Ah well.....just more storm clouds. Since PJ.picks up two fouls anymore walking on the court I would be surprised at over 20 myself.
IF he plays, I expect him now to spell Travis.

It'll depend likely on how much pain he's in.

If the game is tight, which I assume it will be, I don't think he's coming out much unless he's just really hurting us somehow (limping, not getting easy rebounds, etc.)

You can't pull a guy out with an Elite 8 on the line once you start playing him in a back-and-forth game.

We all know how conservative Cal is with injuries so I imagine if there are any questions at all he won't play.

This is just a gut feeling, but I don't believe he'll be able to play even if he takes the court.

I know he didn't have a cast long, but it usually takes some time after it's off to be at that 80, 90 per cent mark.

In a normal situation, yes. This doesn't seem to be a normal thing.

Pretty apparent they were trying to do everything they could do to get him ready in 10 days. PJ said the doctor gave him great news yesterday, so I would assume the only thing left to consider is pain.

Everything I have seen suggested he did, but nothing has been definitive. Maybe it was wishful thinking...

Well, he went through the part of the practice the media was allowed to see. The NCAA changed the open practice rule so media were removed for the second part. Kyle Tucker reported that he saw PJ standing off to the side as he was walking out. But he definitely ran with the team at the beginning because there's video of that. Looked fine.

Unlike others I can't imagine a scenario where he doesn't play. Would be truly bizarre given all they've done. What it would take would be PJ just laboring in warm-ups to the point where it's obvious that his presence out there would hurt us.

Every action they've taken to this point has been about trying to get him to play basketball this weekend and hopefully next.

This is what I’ve been thinking. My belief (hope) has always been that pain was the bigger issue than injury and that Cal was hedging his bets that The Cats would have a better chance to make it to the FF if PJ sat the first weekend.

Can not fathom he doesn’t play. We’ll know in about 9 hours for sure...🤞
