Cal said they expect him to play in the press conference yesterday.

I don't think so. PJ came back this year for a reason. I don't think this is part of that reason.

Truth is we can wring our hands and woe is us all day. I've done my share. Doesn't really matter. Gotta lace em up and go like everybody else. Sure hope PJ is all right and comes back. Definitely a better chance with him. Without him, oh well.....time to show what you got kids. No rematches after a loss in this one.

May have to go small with Hagans, Quickley, Herro, which might not be bad with the opposition we will be facing. Would rather have a healthy PJ of course.

If we can manage to win and survive this weekend without PJ and then he's cleared to play but Cal then refuses to play him the rest of the tournament because of his future, what kind of controversy would this create with the fan base? I think if PJ can play he will want to play, especially at a chance for a National Title that would raise his stock in my opinion....

If he's cleared to play he'll play unless his family steps in.

If the family steps in there's nothing the coach can do. I highly doubt that will happen at this point however.

Sitting here laying all jokes aside, i can't believe this has happened all of a sudden, man this changes everything if he's out. I have felt like for some time that we have the team to go all the way this yearespecially when we are playing our best, now this changes everything.....

Well PJ is over 18 and a grown man, i don't see how family can control this, i think it's on him and Cal. I just hope this isn't as bad as they say or think it is, who knows at this point, so much garbage floating around who knows what to believe, all i know is he's not playing tonight and that's very alarming, didn't see this coming...

Does Cal start Richards or EJ tonight?

smh....I gotta steal another poster's line:

Honestly though if it's not a fracture I'm not sure what's going on there.

You might have an Achilles situation or something but I find it really hard to believe that Kentucky would not just announce that. He'd have to have surgery anyway, and they already said the MRI and X-ray were clean. I don't think they would outright lie about something like that.

I dunno. Oscar Combs pointed out no coach is under any obligation to disclose an injury until gametime so the other team has a chance to switch defensive plans.
AND the medical staff is prohibited from telling any diagnosis to anyone but family (privacy laws) or someone the individual has named to receive that info.

THAT cast/scooter would lead me to say 'stress fracture'.
But then, not a doctor, trainer, therapist, etc.
                              just supposing.

                                Kentucky has said no fracture.

Again, they're not going to lie about that. There'd be no advantage for anyone. A stress fracture isn't much of an injury in the long term. If he had one, they'd say it.

Could be sort of a Kyrie Irving toe situation but again, the cast is strange.
