Championships trump anything else IMO. Also retaining in players past one season goes a long way in my book too. Like I have said before I am not wishing Cal gone. I just wish he would refine some things, mainly retaining players every season so the won't be starting over and over again. Seeing a team like Villanova makes me just a bit jealous. I know UK could do this and probably more.

I am with you on this. We could have actually have the best of both world's but for some reason it just doesn't happen, it's all about draft night.....

The problem with the 'championships trump all else' philosophy is that we had that with Tubby Smith and people were still ready to run him out on a rail even before the 05-07 seasons.

Kyle Tucker (I think) pointed out that they never lost a game when their full roster was healthy.

The Booth kid miss some time and also another player did too. I forget who it was now. When they lost they usually shot very poorly too. But you could that with almost everyone else's losses too.

Believe it or not, i would love for Tiger Woods to win it. I can say that i agree with his off court antics with his wife years ago but everybody makes mistakes and he paid for it in his own way via his health, karma works that way. I wasn't the biggest Tiger fan when he was on top of the world but now that he's shown he's human, i can pull for him now. Watched him in person sink a putt on 16 at Valhalla at the PGA championship years ago and it was a surreal experience in the moment...

Anyways, hoping i can get back to playing golf soon. After having a stroke last year, last year was the first time since i was 12 years old that i didin't play golf at all....

But isn't it fair to say it's easier to recruit big time talent at Kentucky than Villanova?

That was the case some time ago, but with success, as in NC's, that could change quickly.

The Big East certainly has some strong teams but I thinks it's really impressive Nova has won 2 NC's in 3 yrs without a power 5 conference affiliation.

Sometimes we forget every coach wants players for his system. Now and then they change....K running a zone????
Wright has done a fine job getting players that can fit his program. Once again, these kids are top fifty, top 100 players, not walkons.
Let's also not forget that at one point or another in the tournament breaks, luck, that ol devil momentum play roles.
UK has no reason to hang their head the way a bunch of kids came together, neither do they look for some bizarre referee conspiracy (believe me, I've read em) as to why the season ended.
This was not going to be Kentuckys year. Too young, and way too many real obvious weaknesses.

The worst part for my perspective is wondering what freshman won't stick around as sophomores.

I'm with you on baseball, but I like watching golf (the majors, at least).

I used to feel the same way about golf. Before I began playing, you couldn't have paid me to sit down and watch a tournament. Now I watch at least some of the PGA tournaments about every weekend.

I admit that this is a lot of fun, but the nearest big league park is four hours in either direction from my home.

I will use a quote I read about baseball. Not exact but close:

I can't argue that it can be boring. The game will go along slowly but all of the sudden its not boring. Excitement happens and it will all be fresh and new.

I think baseball teaches you patience. You have to have it to watch it and follow it. In the end the patience will pay off and you will feel good about it. This is something most people don't have anymore, patience. More need to turn to baseball to get it back.
