Back when I first saw this Villanova team I thought if UK had a team like this they would be legends in the state forever. I liked this team from this first time I saw them back in December. They have the perfect combination for 2010's basketball. They have about an eight man rotation in which every one of them can shoot the three ball. Also have just enough size to compete on the boards. They are good enough on defense but not great. They are extremely proficient on the offensive end. Also when the three ball isn't going down they drive the ball very well and get baskets inside or get fouled. They also never panic if they get behind. It seemed like a lot of games I watched them they got behind early but always at the very least made a good run and usually came back to win handily like last night. I only saw the first ten minutes of this game. Michigan's length was giving them some trouble. I never doubted a moment they would come back from that because you know why? They have experience. Something UK is almost always lacking. This is the way I wish UK would play it. Great shooting with just enough size plus a good revolving rotation of youth and experience. Jay Wright has found the magic formula for now and he may just ride it to another championship or two before he is done at Villanova. While UK sits back and watches a revolving door of freshmen every year get bounced out of the NCAA's because they have no veteran leadership. But Hey! We are great on draft night. That is the most important night of the year you know.
    Kentucky fan since 1971.

Jay Wright has won two titles, but every other season since Cal's been here he's lost in the first or second round.

If the coin was flipped and Cal had the same record, you'd have legions of Kentucky fans ********************ing the same way they are about the one and done system.

Wasn't that long ago when everyone else wanted their team to emulate us.

I like Nova, too, but I wonder if people want to copy them because of their strategy, or because they happen to be hot right now.

Doesn't hurt that Wright's model is quite a bit different than ours, and a lot of Kentucky fans right now are starving for something different, but at the end of the day the losers (aka, everyone else) will always want to imitate the winner, no matter the formula for success.

I don't think I would be quibbling too much with two titles. I will take Wrights system anytime and take my chances.

I thought the german kid for Michigan had a ton of talent but was allowed to push off and throw elbows the whole game. Looked like he would be the MVP in the first 5 minutes. Game sure changed in the second half.

I get where you're coming from, but in roughly the same stretch we have one title, one championship appearance, two Final Fours, and two Elite Eights. On the whole, that's far better than Wright's record.

Watched Villanova five or six times this year.

Every time I watched them DiVencenzo was their best player. Reminds me of Rex Chapman.

Can't remember who, but last night an NBA player called DiVencenzo's performance "Dante's Inferno."

Also, I wish we'd been able to reel in Omari Spellman. It was between us and Nova, IIRC.

I was pulling for Michigan.....going for almost 8 minutes without scoring and missed foul shots won't help you win a national championship

Villanova is just a really good basketball team. Let's not get too wild with the rankings with the recruits.....most were four and five star players, plus some had redshirts due to various reasons. Coach Wright very plainly stated he went for those UK/ Duke kids too....he just couldn't get em.
They were a fun team to watch....disciplined but free flowing. Whoever is hot gets the ball....their POY had that rare attitude of 'dont matter who scores long as WE win.'

sure is a hard team not to like. A lot.

Wow, and JAY WRIGHT has 2 titles and how many does Cal have in all these years of Greatness??? Still all that doesn't matter, Villanova basketball up and down the floor just looks a whole helluva lot better to me, not all that junk basketball bs i see each and every year here. How about you shot of two of moonshine in that damn kool aide that everybody is sippin on, maybe it will make the picture more clearer. Hell all i here is "LACK OF EXPERIENCE" but who's fault is that, the FANS?????

Fair question, if Jay Wright had been coach at Kentucky since 2009 and had landed the exact same recruits that Cal has landed, how many title's you think he would have won?
