This is awesome news, makes me feel alot better about Zion Williamson choosing Duke. Espn is hyping up Williamson like he's the second coming of Vince Carter but the only difference, Vince could actually shoot the basketball.

As for Diallo, he doesn't have a Rondo or Mkg jumpshot, i think the shooting can be worked out. If he learns how to put the ball on the floor and can learn to hit a mid range shot, how you going to stop someone who jumps over you and shootS it when he wants too? I also feel like Diallo didn't commit on defense this year but if he does with his long wingspan, he can be a pesky defender...

Absolutely. He'll be limited until he finds a way to fix his shot (if possible), but the kid can definitely have an impact.

I thought Hami could be a little selfish at times but I didn't think it was outrageous. When things got a little Archie Goodwin-like for him he dialed it back a bit.

I've seen much worse at UK. Would love to have him back.

I think alot of that is that NY city guard attitude that is instilled from day one but on the flip side when Buffalo called out Kentucky, Diallo took that personal and it showed. To me Diallo looked like a deer in head lights for the most part of the season, still think after the NBA combine he had tons of pressure to be the best so he could go NBA after this year.

Well sure. I cussed him for it many times. But if I were a kid whose NBA aspirations were swirling down the commode, I'd probably get a little desperate and selfish, too.

Unless the player is a known, irreparable problem - e.g., Carruth - you just don't turn away high-level talent. The desire to do so is something I'll never understand.

I was really impressed with him in the first few games. Played great against Kansas. Played great in that Monmouth game at MSG. Then he just hit a wall.

This league is tough to play in. It's not the greatest league for guys who want to get out in the open floor. I think that's why Hami had such a good game against Buffalo: that's his game. Open, free-flowing, up and down. That isn't SEC basketball.

Halfcourt ball is very rough to play for some of these guys and takes a much more refined skillset. My son's in AAU ball and he can play a little when he can just take it and dribble 90 feet and try to score. When stuff gets bogged down in the halfcourt he's very mediocre. (Unsurprisingly, he can't shoot.) It's almost like two different sports.

Seems like once he hit a few towards the end, he was getting more confident and i was feeling alot better about him taking the shots.

If he can get into that gym and work like a madman on his shooting, i think he can be a potent college scorer...

It's funny you mention that. I know alot of folks don't watch the NBA but as Kenny Smith noted in a interview, there's a reason why guys like Ginobli can still play in the NBA at age 40. The NBA game has turned into a free flowing pickup game for the most part. In the old days you had hand checking and the game was alot more physical and that eventually would take it's toll on a body after so many years, not so much anymore because the game is different. I agree that yes Hami is much more suited for a up and down pickup style game than the traditional half court game played in the SEC, makes perfect sense. I also think it hurt the young KNOX running around so much on offense trying to get loose in the half court, it wore him down, especially a kid that young trying to get used to D1 basketball....

No disrepect to SGA or Green but if Knox, Diallo, Washington, Vanderbilt, and Gabriel return, i will jump for joy with what we have next year..........

You want him to leave? Why?

Because he is an athlete but not a basketball player. He has so many holes in his game that I doubt he will ever fill them. I don't have anything against the kid, I just can't see him any better next year.

Next year could potentially be the first time since Cal has been here we have a game he doesn't start a freshman. We could see
