And IF Baker really is concerned about PT, then he hasn't paid attention to the last nine years of Calipari basketball.

Shooters are always in short supply. If that's where he excels and the rest of his game is at least serviceable, there will be a place for him in this program.

Continue to make something out of nothing if you like, but it's only going to cause undue stress.
I posed a question not a narrative so how is that making something out of nothing??

Because the question is baseless. There's absolutely no reason to think Baker is concerned about playing time next year, so why ask the question?

Maybe he is concerned about his injury not being healed or many other factors. This is not baseless but just part of a discussion based on a post by another member. If Cal did coach the players on what to say, I hope that works out better than his end of the game coaching.

Again, has he said anything along these lines? Has he done anything to suggest as much? No?

Then you guys are fabricating concerns. Why invent more crap to worry about if we don't actually know that we should be worried?

Wow I didn't know asking a simple question would generate controversy. Are we not basing our projections of who is leaving on the same baseless info?

No. We base those predictions on draft boards and scouting reports.

How many times has it been said I think Gabriel is leaving but not sure where he is going? SKJ may transfer? Vanderbilt has other issues then a sprained ankle? All of these are concerns or discussion on a message board. So I guess unless we have concrete evidence or facts all questions are baseless? Most info on a message is baseless and just opinions and concerns of fans.

If Vanderbilt is suffering some type of stress fractures in his feet/legs, it would be a scary thing for an athlete.
If he were to get another injury his hopes as a first rounder and possibly a second rounder would be in question. He may still be an NBA guy, but he would have to take that long, long free agent route.

Personally, I've never seen a reason to buy into the Gabriel logic, either. People around here talk about how badly his family needs the money, but I'm not sure that's true - no more so, at least, than any other recruit from a difficult upbringing. They escaped their region's civil war when Wenyen was a baby; since then, he and his siblings seem to have thrived (many, if not all, have graduated or are currently enrolled in college) and his mother became an LNA a long time ago (may have moved up since then - not sure). Point being, I don't think he needs the money as badly as some say he does.

There's no reason to believe SKJ will transfer, either. Don't know where that comes from other than anecdotal stories of other players (at all schools - not just UK). He's a talented guy with an obvious opportunity on next year's team, and he hasn't done nearly enough to draw the attention of pro scouts. He's also smart, so I'm going to assume that he sees and understands all of that just like we do. Why would he transfer? How much sense would that make? Relatively speaking, he's virtually unknown at UK. Transferring to a lower-tier program is going to make his name ring out? Sorry. I don't buy it.

But back to Baker. I don't think we have to have clear cut evidence to back up every possible theory that pops up on a message board, but the Baker theories you guys floated today just don't make any sense and are rooted in absolutely nothing. Like I said earlier, you're free to speculate all you like, but I would implore everyone to avoid running with stuff like that. Baker has said nothing to suggest that he's unhappy or considering a move, nor do I see evidence from any other source to suggest as much.

What we have to remember folks is, some ideas may not make sense to some, but perfect sense to others. And it's OK to post both ideas.

Cathy, do like me, expect them all to go. If any comeback its a bonus. Just wait until after June 11 and then ask for a round up of who did go pro, who transferred and who is coming back,if any. You save yourself a lot of trouble by just going away from this for about two months.

Gabriel is liable to be a vagabond type even overseas. He's definitely not a player who could make it in some of those premiere leagues. He'll make some money, but this is a player who is basically like hundreds of others in college basketball: straight role player.

Could do some things to make himself an incredibly valuable college player. Not sure he ever plays in the NBA.
