And that was before he had much of an offensive game. Guy has even turned into a decent 3 point shooter.

Syracuse's Tyus Battle declares without an agent.

Should go well before any of the Kentucky guys.

At this point, I would hazard a guess that each entry into the draft push everyone besides Knox and Shai further down in the draft. And that doesn't really factor in the Euro players that may decide to come in.

For a couple of our guys I don’t think it matter who comes in . They came to UK to go in one year and I think that’s what they will do.

A whopping 236 () players declared this year as early entries or foreign players. That's not counting seniors.

Well over three hundred applicants for thirty or so guaranteed paychecks and the rest are shots in the dark.

That is ridiculous to hear. Who is thinking of the well being of these young men?

It is a ridiculous number. But honestly why would anyone not throw their name in? If I understand right even those who don't get combine invites can still get feedback from the NBA. Just hearing from someone in the NBA that you need to work on a certain aspect of your game could be helpful with a lot of these guys. I'm sure they hear it from coaches but hearing from someone in the NBA surely would carry more weight.

The key is taking the feedback they get and applying it, which includes staying in school if that's the advice you get.

The fact that you can do it twice should make it an obvious choice for anyone who is a sophomore or junior and has a legitimate chance of ever being an NBA player.

I think they should all throw their name in too. But just logistically, when that many do throw their name in it kind of defeats the purpose of throwing your name in if you're one of these fringe players.

With our three guys then sure. But a lot of these players will get no feedback at all. At that point it just sort of becomes sort of circus-y.

This is another reason why the NBA should have more access to these players at any point, before and after they enter college. They should always be able to get as much information as they want without players sacrificing their eligibility to do so, and without the players having to declare and work out in a small window of about two months.

Here's an interesting article about former Duke player Quinn Cook. This is the kind of story all these borderline players--like our three--could point to when folks tell them they'll go undrafted. There are success stories if you put your name in and don't hear it called on draft night. There just aren't a whole lot of them.

I am too lazy to google if D. Liggins was actually drafted but he's also managed to work his way into the league. Anything is possible but to me if you are a player in this type of situation, getting a degree and being a ex basketball alumni almost guarantees you that you are your family will not be starving down the road unless you absolutely make every bad decision possible, education still has to be important for many right?

Speaking of the NBA, anybody watching Terry Rozier and Bledsoe go at it in the playoffs? I love Kentucky really like Bledsoe but am also a huge Celtics fan especially in the playoffs lol lol. Bledsoe totally disrespected Rozier and told a reporter he didn't even know that dudes' freaking name but if didn't know, he does know. Rozier has roasted Bledsoe this series and last night they finally had to be seperated as a scuffle broke out after a cheap shot by Bledsoe with a football shoulder pick.

The problem with selling a lot of athletes on getting a degree, instead of pursuing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, is that not many, if any, of the jobs these guys would end up with, as a result of having their degree, is that they wouldn't pay anywhere near what the lowest paid player in the NBA makes. Another factor is that most of these guys have their sights set on making a living playing bb from the time they're big enough to dribble a ball. Unlike normal people, they're not geared for sitting behind a desk from 8:00-4:30, being in law enforcement, working on the loading docks at UPS, etc.
