I think reason no UL coach is arrested is bc they funneled money to players and didn't take themselves. UL problem is with NCAA not FBI yet

I don't know the numbers but I believe you are allowed to receive a one time gift of up to a certain amount of money without paying taxes. I'm sure that's part of it.

But the FBI isn't gonna go all in on something like this on an untaxed $100k.

I think the reason is that nobody has ever tried to infiltrate one of the shoe companies, allowed a wire to be put on them, and gotten assistant coaches to admit they were looking to pay cash money to get recruits on campus.

They had to flip this informant to even get in there and do this. They could have I guess charged UK for sending Chris Mills money retroactively, but in this case the feds built the case against Adidas and these schools. Much different deal I think than going back in and constructing what happened after the fact.

The FBI got involved because of an Securities (SEC) case involving one of the Agents and his mis-handling
some Pro players money. This led to some of the assistant college coaches and fraud, deceit, and bribery.
That is one reason that the NCAA was not involved or informed.

Now THIS sounds like a reason. Thanks!

In the press conference the Attorney General said the coaches and agents were swarming around the players in a way that shouldn't be happening in college sports. I believe the word he used was "preying."

So I think boiled down to its essence this seems like protecting high school kids. Sounds like Chuck Person in particular was engaged in mafia-like shenanigans.

                    You're right.

I feel bad for the reasonable U of L fans I know, but seeing Pitino get his due is going to be sweet.

UL has acknowledged they are one of the schools included in the Feds complaint. So its official UL is in deep doo doo once again.

Listening to the spin on 790 WKRD right now. But, deep down, you can hear it in their voices... even Howie Lindsey knows the ship is about to sink.

The spin machine is in high gear in Louisville again. Can't wait to hear how they've been victimized this time around.

Pat Forde (of all people) says UL should get death penalty, Pitino and Jurich should be fired

Louisville basketball, one of the most successful in history on the court and for decades the most lucrative hoops program in America, prepare for your demise.

UL has lost one of its biggest friends in Forde. You know its bad when he can't support them.
