More denial by UL's side in the CJ today. An assistant coach who was given a 1 year show cause complaining of the horrible injustice of it. Says he fully cooperated with the investigation. Article goes ahead to say NCAA asked him for one thing--his cell phone records from 2014. So he goes out and gets a new phone and turns it over to them obviously with no records from 2014. Not sure how old the guy is but he claims his old phone was in his mommy's name and she won't let him give it to them because "enough is enough." The one thing that I'm sure would fully clear his name--but "enough is enough."
Somehow this article in the Courier Jurich is written in the tone that he is fully in the right and has been done wrong.
As this is not a court of law where one is innocent until proven guilty it seems pretty good evidence of guilt when you won't give them evidence that could prove your innocence.
Still no one ready to take their medicine and still a state's largest newspaper in an AD's back pocket.
This has been fun. And yet I personally wouldn't be all that surprised if the appeals committee slacks off of the sanctions. Can't put much past them either. Guess I'm fairly cynical.Comment

This is a worse penalty than a two year death penalty.
Louisville has shared all tourney monies with conference members. They have also already had to pay out a huge part of tourney monies to the AAC and Big East in exit fees. If they are held accountable for all revenue prior to conference distribution, that's a whole lot of money that's already gone.
throw in a big bunch of money comes from endorsements. How many of those will stand in this situation?
What is unbelievable is the reaction of all invoved, including the fan base. An appeal will go back to the infractions committee which has already clearly stated this was a unanimous decision....based on NO school should allow over a FOUR YEAR PERIOD strippers and prostitutes to be allowed on campus to play their wares.
then there is a growing crowd that wants to SUE the NCAA for punishing a school to allow prostitution for recruits?????
Louisville is being given a chance to try and begin rehabilitating their name by coming clean on who the players were and taking the banner down themselves. A chance.
I really don't think this crew realises how they are being looked at across the sports nation.

Sold their soul years ago. It was all about getting in with the big boys. From small conference to power conference. Now not one of their administration or fan base will admit how filthy they played to get there. Papa John and Rick Bozich are about the only ones who've even hinted they need a cleanup.Comment

Just listening to Pitino and Jurich with the interim pres joining in, I get the feeling they've all forgotten they have bosses...like a board of reagents that they will have to answer to. Sounds more and more like a poor man's "U"....a try to pattern the athletics department after Miami football of years ago.Comment

I spoke to a guy who claims to have friends in the athletic department there. He said Pitino knew about it and that's why they got his son out of there. He knew once it broke that it could ruin his son's career so they got him out before it hit the fan.Comment

[SIZE=14px]Originally posted by [/SIZEjustford;n131800]Can you imagine the heckling they will receive at all their away games? Not to mention the signs being shown in the stands?? Will be a circus everywhere they go.
Cal will plead with fans to stay classy. Hopefully they will comply with his wishes. Not ever going to stop boos. But heckling over this filth is not acceptable to Cal.Comment

I'm just curious: why is heckling U of L over this unacceptable? I know Cal will tell us to 'stay classy' - but why isn't it acceptable?Comment
