    Yes.

But you're still talking about an 8 million dollar a year revenue for basketball--and an overall program "value" that's much more than that.

If that's not a cash cow then I don't know the definition of one, lol.

Football as a sport is on another level. (And TV is part of that revenue for both programs.)

Where UK football has always lagged is in booster support and giving. UK football is so soft in that department compared to basketball. This is why the amenities that UK basketball has always had have far outpaced football's.

And it's one feather in Mitch Barnhart's cap that he's been able to do some things on the football side...unfortunately they just haven't added to the product on the field.

Oh yeah. Those Brooks' teams were probably the apex of what Kentucky can achieve.

      And I'm fine with that.

This is why when people say "Kentucky football is always like this," I bristle a little.

UK football isn't always like this. This is a different level of ineptitude.

If you sincerely believe the AD or coach are bad for the program, and there is ample and mounting evidence that they are, it would be a disservice to the program to pretend otherwise. And it isn't fair or right to expect people to not speak candidly on here.

If you love people in your family, you praise them when they deserve it, and you talk about problems when they're there. You do them a disservice if you don't do it both ways. When they succeed at something or make you proud, you say so. But you also have to speak up when they're with someone who is no good for them, or not taking school seriously, or need to quit drinking, or need to quit indulging their kids, or it's time to take away the car keys, or any number of other things. Ignoring problems like that or not speaking about them isn't good for people you care about. Discussing problems - glaring, obvious problems that need to be remedied - doesn't mean that people aren't fans or don't care about the program. To the contrary: if they didn't care, they wouldn't take the time to pay attention or comment on it.
Great points, and if I come on too strong I apologize. I'm a make your point, then move on guy. To me, saying something hump-teen times gets boring and unnecessary. We have major problems within our FB program, and we've only had short glimpses of the success we desperately want. And when we hear how recruiting is going, it makes us expect good results. When it doesn't happen we get frustrated. I have no answers, but I do have an opinion.

I must say, in the post game reviews, it has surprised me that none of the sports folks, or even local sports celebrities have mentioned the fact that We really didn't score a touchdown.

We noticed it. And, given how woeful the last two games have been, I would have expect the media to snidely mention it. It's not necessary to pile on, but, like I said, it surprises me that the media types and mouthpieces have passed on it.

I don't think video evidence would have shown it wasn't a TD.

No apology necessary, my friend. Just keep posting what you think. I enjoy reading it.

It's a mess; we don't need to ignore that. Talking about the future is talking about the future whether it's anticipating a new season with a coach with good prospects, or anticipating what lies beyond after a coach with poor prospects. Good or bad, it's the program we follow. No reason to pretend things are fine when they aren't. I'm really disappointed. I hoped these guys could produce.

I thought they were a "can't miss" hire. And I do believe they really want to win, but something is not right.
