If we win two of the next three will we still have collapsed?

No they can't do that without a total uprising. Its close to that now. I'm just saying if they walk away then they have lost the scholarship IMO. They are plenty of people with agendas they want to promote and they don't care who they take with them to promote their own causes. A person had better think some on whether that is best for them or not to follow those kinds of groups.

I would still love to know specifically what was mismanaged. I have never seen anything like this without evidence of MAJORmalfeasance.

Here's a link to a timeline of events.

he group Concerned Student 1950 issued 8 demands that they say Tim Wolfe refused to agree to. Wolfe's resignation is one of the demands. It's unknown from this article of recent events if this is an ongoing problem at Mizzou dating back years, or if it's just this year.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Just an absolutely terrible precedence to set. This situation is a complete joke.

Good question. To this point in our schedule, our play closely parallels our 2014 collapse. If we only win one of our last three games (Charlotte), it's de ja vu all over again. If we win two of three, we're no longer on the collapse track....and our level of improvement over last year will depend on how well we played in these last three games.

I agree with SCBlu. If we win two of the last three, some of the sting will be taken out of the missed opportunities and shoddy play. If we only win one of the last three, I don't know if coach Stoops will be able to right the ship no matter how long he's given to do it. In my opinion, a 7-5 record would go a long way in easing a lot of the pain and misery, I just don't see that happening though.

                      So the specific circumstances are.

                      1. Student gets called a racial slur by another individual in sept.
                      2. Group of students get called a racial slur by another individual.
                      3. A bathroom is vandalized with a poo drawing of a swastika.

All of this leads to the following eight demands (emphasis mine):

                      List of Demands
                      I. We demand that the University of Missouri System President, Tim Wolfe, writes a handwritten apology to the Concerned Student 1950 demonstrators and holds a press conference in the Mizzou Student Center reading the letter. In the letter and at the press conference, Tim Wolfe must acknowledge his white male privilege, recognize that systems of oppression exist, and provide a verbal commitment to fulfilling Concerned Student 1950 demands. We want Tim Wolfe to admit to his gross negligence, allowing his driver to hit one of the demonstrators, consenting to the physical violence of bystanders, and lastly refusing to intervene when Columbia Police Department used excessive force with demonstrators.

II. We demand the immediate removal of Tim Wolfe as UM system president. After his removal
a new amendment to UM system policies must be established to have all future UM system president and Chancellor positions be selected by a collective of students, staff, and faculty of diverse backgrounds.

III. We demand that the University of Missouri meets the Legion of Black Collegians' demands that were presented in 1969 for the betterment of the black community.

IV. We demand that the University of Missouri creates and enforces comprehensive racial awareness and inclusion curriculum throughout all campus departments and units, mandatory for all students, faculty, staff, and administration. This curriculum must be vetted, maintained, and overseen by a board comprised of students, staff, and faculty of color.

                      V. We demand that by the academic year 20172018, the University of Missouri increases the percentage of black faculty and staff campuswide to 10%.

VI. We demand that the University of Missouri composes a strategic 10 year plan by May 1, 2016 that will increase retention rates for marginalized students, sustain diversity curriculum and training, and promote a more safe and inclusive campus.

VII. We demand that the University of Missouri increases funding and resources for the
University of Missouri Counseling Center for the purpose of hiring additional mental health professionals; particularly those of color, boosting mental health outreach and programming across campus, increasing campuswide awareness and visibility of the counseling center, and reducing lengthy wait times for prospective clients.

VIII. We demand that the University of Missouri increases funding, resources, and personnel for the social justices centers on campus for the purpose of hiring additional professionals, particularly those of color, boosting outreach and programming across campus, and increasing campuswide awareness and visibility.

I'm skeptical of that original Facebook post. It came from a student who had apparently been outspoken about black and LGBT issues. It could have happened, certainly, but it seems convenient.

As someone said, it's reminiscent of the 1960s. It's easy for me as a white man to say we have come a long way since then, but we do have a black president. I saw racism--or at least the language of racism--quite a bit as a kid in rural Kentucky but have never seen it once in Louisville.

It's hard to tell if this uprising is legitimate or if it's a case of young kids being incensed by life.

Ok Tim Wolfe resigned. What happens if a group doesn't like a professor or what meal is being served? Can they unite and get the professor fired or the menu changed?!?! Sorry but it is another case of the tail wagging the dog. Where is it going to end??

Totally agree justford. When will this end? We have become so sensitive as a Nation that it's to the point that I feel that when did our tough chops fall by the wayside? It's pretty sad that we have come to this. I mean, I can get easily offended about a lot of things. Thank God that my parents taught me to just ignore the ignorant. I also believe in karma. Nothing good will come from this and those with an axe to grind will get their comeuppance.

That's fine. Delete my post. However, there seems to be a stink in this thread and the overall message appears to be that these students should have just let this go, or it wasn't anything to be offended by, or they shouldn't have called for the President's head, or people are too PC these days. And I'm guessing those with that view are older, white men. Let's just call it what it is. This goes beyond what is being served on the breakfast menu.

Based on the information I see, the Mizzou President didn't do anything to curtail racism at his university. In fact, he and his folks only fanned the flame. Next time, don't ignore students who are being mistreated.

I would normally agree. PC is crazy but if you listen to certain folks, you would think that it's going to tear the world apart. Those that rage against it are as off the mark as those that constantly have their feelings hurt. Nobody can exist anymore unless it's on the fringes of thought for some reason.

BUT in this case it feels different. However, having said that I am a white man and I am not a student at Missouri. I shouldn't be the one making the call on this.
