Wow. Hope they don't screw up Miller High Life. This is akin to Ford buying GM.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

I guess the moral here is if you can't beat 'em, buy 'em.

Sam Adams rebel rouser double IPA...
Good beer in the turbo IPA style. A hop monster IBU OF 85 and ABV of 8.4...
                  A very serious beer.
Crisp, with a serious hop bite. This beer packs a serious punch. Would be great with a mess of ribs...
BTW High life is a great traditional American beer!!!
                  Maybe the best...

Founders Breakfast Stout- FANTASTIC stout. 8.3% abv. Has a dark chocolate, frenchy toast kinda thing going on. No hint of booziness whatsoever and that makes this beer dangerous. Stouts are made to be sipped, however. The thickness of this beer cements that fact. If you want a cold one on a hot day then drink a domestic pilsner. If you want to sit by the fire on a cold night and try something different then by all means pick this up. That is, if stouts are your thing. Paid $12.50 for a 4 pack and it was worth every penny. It is a world class stout and the ratings prove it. Pour into a nice tulip or any other beer glass and let it warm up a bit. That's when the flavors really shine.

Founders doesn't make a bad beer, I prefer the Imperial Russian over the breakfast stout though, abv is up there I thinks its 10.5. Just a superb beer...

Bells Double Cream Stout- Another fantastic beer by Bells. This will be in the rotation of my favorite winter warmers.

Folks, with the weather we've had the last couple of days, it's plain that Fall is nearly here. As we've discussed before, it's that wonderful time of the year to celebrate Oktoberfest, Porters, the change of season, Kentucky! This post is a shameless bump.

When I was out in San Fran and Napa Valley last week, I took advantage of the crisp San Fran weather to have a few pints of Arrogant Bastard on tap.

Was at a tavern called Jack's Cannery Tavern (Irish Pub type place) and saw it was on tap. British guy sitting next to me bout fell off his stool when I ordered it.

He looked at me incredulously and asked, "What did you just say?!" I told him and pointed to the tap on the wall. Funniest beer name he'd heard.

Blue Stallion Brewing Company's (Lexington KY micro brew) Dunkel is truly fantastic.

I try to have a growler on hand any time I am going to be entertaining out of town guests. It is presently my favorite beer by a wide margin. (I'm more of a scotch person)
