Angry Orchard is gluten free. There is a beer called Red Bridge I believe that is GF. It wasn't bad.

I appreciate that, but it's all good. I thought I'd miss the gluten-heavy stuff much more than I do, but now that I've been off it for a while, I never really give it a second thought. I'm feeling a lot better these days, too, and my overall diet has improved tremendously. That isn't to say that I'm drinking the GF Kool-Aid and calling it the world's healthiest diet or anything, but the changes I had to make led to additional changes that resulted in improvements on the whole.

I like ciders, but anything more than a couple bottles and the sweetness begins to make me feel kinda gross.

I'll look for Red Bridge, though. Thanks for the tip.

I actually kinda buy into the hysteria abut gluten. My wife having a gluten free diet, I sometimes go days without eating it if I don't eat out at a restaurant. Invariably, I always feel better after a day or two of not eating it at all. I think even in people without a gluten allergy, there are tangible benefits of not eating it.

I can't drink ciders either. Rhinegeist Brewing here in Cincinnati has two that are kind of the exception. They're 'dry hopped' so they're very similar to a dry white wine. They're naturally low in sugar and much lower in calories. I can drink those moreso, but it's still not something I seek out.

There is/was a tennis player. Jokovic? He credited his turn around to winning tournaments to a gluten free diet and he wasn't sensitive to gluten. Ever since my wife was diagnosed I can tell a difference in how better I feel. The thing that really bakes my noodle is how expensive gf bread is. About $5 for this tiny sack of sadness.

That's the truth. Gluten free bread isn't good.

But I'm gonna share a lifechanger with you: The Skinnytaste Bagel. We use Namaste gluten free flour bought at Costco, but I think Kroger and Meijer sell it in normal quantities if you don't have a membership. These bagels are outstanding, and you'd hardly know the difference. The dough is so versatile - we've made pizza (parbake the crust at 450 for 6-7 minutes and it's good as gold), cinnamon rolls, breadsticks, and sub sandwich buns.

We have some gf flour. Gonna have to ask what kind.

With Oktoberfest season approaching, I thought I would bump this. Any recommendations for some killer Fall beers I need to try?

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest. They collaborate this year with Bitburger Brewing. Fantastic fall marzen. Great Lakes Oktoberfest goes without saying, imo. My favorite Oktoberfest style.

Kroger up here in Mt. Washington has the Sierra Nevada on sale for $7.79 a sixer. About as good a deal as you are gonna get.

Will be in Colorado the week after Thanksgiving. Hoping for some good fall beers to try. Will be going to our favorite breweries and will try a couple new ones. My son lives near Ft Collins. No shortage of choices 🙂

Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.
