I saw Superman/Batman. It was about what I expected.... Unlike Marvel Studios, Warner Brothers & DC comics seem to HATE their flagship characters.

Certainly Frank Miller (who wrote the comic that inspired this film) hates Superman.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they like beautiful cinematography and an utterly joyless, dour, series of happenings that don't exactly equate to a story.

Basic synopsis of Superman vs Batman..............

Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

        LOL!

A shorter synopsis would be Uber-hypocrite v. Murderman Dawn of abject nihilism.

At least Bryan Singer's impotent and obsequious homage to the Donner films delivered one of the best rollicking fun scenes ever put in a comic book movie.

I enjoyed Superman Returns. I thought it deserved more credit than it did.

I loved parts I hated parts. Like a cinematic version of a UK football season.

Saw Creed earlier this week. Then followed by The Jungle Book (1967).

                The Invitation.

A man is invited to a dinner party at the home of his ex-wife, who's been missing for two years and is now remarried. And then...

It's best to not know too much about this going in. This is a simmering, teasing movie that's extremely well made. It reminded me of The Gift in a lot of ways: much of the tension is created by light and sound that's just off the edge of the frame. And just like in The Gift the acting is spot-on, including a true treat: John Carroll Lynch, who played Norm Gunderson in Fargo, plays a frightening role in this one. Spoiler alert: he doesn't get anybody Arby's.

                Scary and shocking. Highest recommendation.

So we've been doing this podcast for a while now, and we're enjoying it. Here's our minicast review of The Jungle Book. We're still working through the vocal bugs and what not, but yeah, it's here if you like movies and would like to have something to listen to while traveling or whatever.

Welp, to kick off Civil War week, we posted up a small minicast today about Civil War and why it's a big deal to people.

Last movie I saw was Zootopia last week. Still great. Will be seeing Civil War this weekend.

Saw Batman v Superman and I loved it. Nowhere near as bad as all were saying. Yeah, a lot was going on, but doesn't it in superhero movies these days? Affeck made a very capable Batman. Much better than the Kilmer/ Clooney mess but not as good as Bale or Keaton. I am looking forward to the next one.

I am off the next few days and I plan on seeing Civil War tomorrow. I find myself so excited for this. The reviews so far have been excellent. It will be hard to top The Winter Soldier, but from all indications, it does.

So I'm in need of some Disney Movie Rewards codes...inserts that come with any Disney DVD or blu ray. I'm needing about 300 points. Each code contains, at minimum, 100. If anyone has any, please let me know.

I trashed it pretty hard but have no problems with people enjoying it. I still think it's a mess of a movie, with the only redeeming value being Affleck, Irons, and Gadot. But again, no qualms with people feeling pleased with it.

As a Superman fan and a comic book fan I found it offensive on several different levels; but I don't begrudge others liking it.
