Just saw this, glad you enjoyed Triangle. I remember reading once that it took the writer a whole year to work out all the intricacies of the time loop stuff.Triangle.
Thanks to Cataonic for recommending this. It's a movie I started a couple of years ago but didn't finish for some reason. But I'm glad I watched it; it's sort of a mash-up of Primer and Timecrimes (though I didn't care for Timecrimes because of the odd, quasi-comic tone of the movie). Triangle, like Primer, creates tension early on in the ominous, pulsing soundtrack, and the way the movie is chopped up to create this unsettling dread in the viewer.
To reveal too much about this would be a shame, but if you like headtrippy stuff then this is a great choice. Highly recommended.
You can watch it--beware: not a great-looking version--on YouTube for free here.
The GF and I are trying to decide what movies to show for our annual Halloween movie party. I suggested The 'Burbs and/or The Blob in the spirit of keeping things light.Comment

Beetlejuice would be a good one.

The Count of Monte Cristo- GREAT revenge flick. I have never read the book but will now. I loved this movie even though it is 14 years old. Highly recommended.Isaiah 5:20Comment

Me and wife saw that when it originally came out. I didn't know the story at all and found it very good. It is a good flick.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

The book is a doorstop. Well over a thousand pages.
Interestingly my grandmother and great-aunt tell me all the time it's the best book they've read, and they're both huge readers. So I was in Joseph-Beth the day after BBM and thought I'd pick it up. Read a few pages and just couldn't see myself getting through it all.
The story itself though is extraordinary, and that version of the movie you're talking about was really well-done.Comment

Hell or High Water- Fantastic movie. Two Brothers rob banks in west Texas to pay off the family farm. Soon to be retired Jeff Bridges is hot on their tail. There are excellent performances in this one, even the bit roles. Does anyone play the crusty old timer better than Bridges? I think not as he was excellent in this one. Chris Pine was good but Ben Foster was superb. The cinematography was outstanding as was the soundtrack. This movie's action was all in the third act. What came before it was a good fleshing out of the characters. You felt for the brothers. There is a scene where Bridges' partner, an Indian, describes perfectly what this movie is about. You know it when you see it. This was almost the perfect movie and is sure to garner Oscar nods for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Bridges. Foster probably deserves the nod too. Highly recommended. See this movie.Isaiah 5:20Comment
