Even though the numbers might be there, on the whole the roster simply isn't going to be strong enough to platoon. The platoon system had veterans in addition to the strong incoming class; this new roster has virtually no returning leadership, and despite their rankings, some of the freshman aren't the mind-blowing prospects we're used to seeing.
They're going to be good, but I wouldn't say any of them outside of Diallo (if he stays), Knox, and Bamba (if we get him) are what you'd call "can't miss" prospects.Comment

I think Vanderbilt might turn out to be a guy who's a can't-miss sort of player.
But there will be no platooning next season or ever again under Cal. The only thing you need to do to check this is go back and look at how bad the guy hated it the first time around, and that was with the freaky team. This coming team is going to be COMPLETELY different.Comment

He has posted videos of him walking around hanging out on the beach while he was in California....so I take that as he is fine....
You can't get around on the beach too easily with a injured/broken foot or messed up ankle/leg.....Comment

OK, so Richards is very athletic but also very raw. If we get Bamba, Richards PT goes down as does his exposure and in game development. Do you all think it's possible he returns for at least a second year?John 3:3

He'd have to be very raw for there to be no first-round juice about him. Really WCS is the only big in that mold--Dakari doesn't count--who returned for UK, and WCS played on a dog of a team.Comment

Top 5 ranked players this year went to Mizzouri, Alabama, Texas, Arizona, and Western Kentucky....
Shades of 2015 recruiting class....Comment

I don't have great expectations for next year's team, but I guess the upside is there isn't a sure-fire one and done outside of Kevin Knox. It's possible the '18-19 team could be pretty stacked.Comment

Article on SKJ, and how he is very driven and focused now...
“We’ve been in the gym every day the last two weeks since he’s been home,†said Gilbert Abraham, a North Carolina-based personal trainer who has worked with Killeya-Jones since he was in ninth grade. “He’s focused, he’s driven, he understands what he has to do now and he has a plan. I’m really excited for him.â€
Sources close to the Kentucky program told SEC Country that, while he didn’t break back into the lineup, Killeya-Jones turned a corner in practice over the final month of the season and began to turn heads. He has carried that momentum into the offseason, motivated by a new opportunity for playing time.Comment
