I love Wenyen as well and think he has tremendous potential, particularly if you give him another summer in the weight room.

BUT if he's going to play over Keldon Johnson the guy better bring it. Because Johnson is going to be very, very hard to sit.

I do agree with shooting from that spot if Gabriel leaves. It's going to be another team built around length and power, and Villanova has shown that skill and finesse is the new trend in Golden State's world. (North Carolina had a little of both; massive offensive rebounding potential but also dangerous perimeter players.)

Glad to hear Montgomery is on board. I hope the others stay and go for another big run in the tournament.

The pro game confuses me as to who will make it and why....not on the can't miss players, but with the guys on the fence. The one guy that I was skeptical about being in the Pros was Tayshaun Prince and he ended up being a all star.

The twins I have been skeptical from day one because they were not quick.

So, as good as Gabriel was this last season, he kind of lost his shooting touch in the last few games when it really mattered. He has always looked a little awkward on his drives to the basket. I do think he is a future pro. If he stays another year, he will be first round. Not sure he will get the first round contract if he leaves now. He might not get drafted.

Green played great at times and played very sub par at times. Why would anyone think he would leave? The shorter you are, the better you have to be in college. I see Green as a four year guy.

I think the feeling some have about Green is that he might transfer to a place where he can be a full-time point guard.

At Kentucky he'll still likely be behind Quickley and/or Hagans and will have to play off the ball.

Not sure Wenyen is ever an NBA player because I don't think he has the necessary electricity in his game. He's not very athletic at all. But he has the tools to fit in to today's NBA game.

If he makes it he'll likely be a vagabond sort who kind of floats in and out of the league. But he could be a very, very good college player if he gets stronger and learns how to put the ball on the floor.

I was skeptical that Tyler Ulis would ever do much in the NBA, and he has carved a nice role for himself. I was pretty skeptical that Skal would have the year he had, but he has done reasonably well for himself too.

I thought Ulis could simply because he's a freak of nature.

It was hard to get a read on Skal because he was such an enigma here. The guy didn't play hard. I think he was going at about 75% while he was here.

I didn't think Poythress would ever put on an NBA uniform. I thought Aaron Harrison would be the Harrison twin to at least have a so-so career. I didn't see Deandre Liggins having the solid career he's had. And I thought Malik Monk would've had a much better rookie year than he's had.

Good write-up on Montgomery from Ben Roberts.

We pretty much landed the polar opposite of Nick Richards.

Walker says Kentucky is still in great shape with Hagans. Also an interesting note about Cal visiting James Wiseman this weekend.

He says if Vanderbilt and Washington both return then that may push Wenyen out. Also says Hami may announce as early as tomorrow.

Especially the "hands" part. Richards will be solid in time. I would imagine an off season working with Kenny Payne would do wonders for his game.

Agree. I think he went through a little of what Gabriel did as a freshman: just lost all semblance of confidence around December and never got it back.

There are posts on this thread where I'm talking about him as a possible first-round pick. I really thought he could be a breakout player this year. And at times early on he looked like one.

Then he hit the mother of all freshman walls and everything just fell apart for him.

To answer any question...I assure you I am not evan Daniels....lol

His comments on Montgomery are basically the long version of my earlier post #735.

I don't want to cut Quade down because I see him as a player who will improve each year the way guys used to develop. But I never saw him play great. I saw times where he could hit timely open 3's but for a guy who came in as our point guard I never really saw him run the offense and make others better.

I think with experience that will come if he'll stick around. Even if it's as a backup another year or so.

I think the Alabama game was great because he shut Sexton down.

Other than that there wasn't much. A few great runs here and there.

I like him because I like guys who can shoot. And I like his mentality. Seems to have a sort of killer's attitude.

But his athleticism is way low for a high D1 guard. Like way low. He just has almost no burst at all, which means he has to be a player who can just maul you body to body. Very few freshmen can do that because they just don't have the physicality.

He was also a casualty of trying to get Hami going from about December on. Kentucky may've been better off giving Green all those minutes. We certainly wouldn't have been worse.

I like Quade...but you have to really project him and assume he can improve. He has pretty monumental things to make up because of his lack of speed.

Count me with those who haven't given up on Nick. He seems to have the psyche that just needs experience before he will really do what he's capable of. A comfortable/confident Nick could become very good. I've said it before but I think he has Marvin Stone potential. Not Anthony Davis by any means but quite good.

I haven't either and I would imagine his summer will be filled with weights and drills to improve his hands.
