This and Cal's lost his gleam. I think there's a small change that Zion is a couple years away conditioning wise from being a true phenom, but he remains "the cool recruit". This is horrible and I hope Mitch realizes the significance this could represent in terms of Calipari's time here.

I'd start looking/planning for a replacement in case he retired in the next couple of years.

There was a time when I’d have said no.

      Now? Bring in Heidi Fleiss.

The weird thing to think about is what if this team were to lose guys it shouldn't to the NBA.

I would bet a decent amount of money that this won't happen...but it could.

Shai, Vanderbilt, Knox, and Diallo leave. Wiseman doesn't reclassify. Then you have essentially a three-man recruiting class and you're trying to patch all those holes.

I thought for the longest time that the lack of offers meant that the staff was confident. Now the lack of offers just seems coincidental.

Things could get really weird around here.

Things are already weird. It’s looking more and more like we’re in the home stretch of Cal’s reign. Don’t know who you reach out to if you’re Barnhart, but Matt’s right. It’s probably time.

If we only lose those four that gives us:

            Green and Quickley
            Herro and Baker
            Johnson
            Washington and Gabriel
            Richards and SKJ and Tai

That's a pretty dang good team. It has shooting, depth, length, and a lot of experience. Now, lose Washington and/or Richards as well? Ouch.

Better start looking at grad transfers while we’re at it, just to be safe.

I just read a very good point I hadn't thought of. The year UK signed five of the top ten we got an eight seed.

Won’t Duke return more vets than we did that year?

Basically he decided that Barrett, Reddish and Tre Jones are better than Quickley, Herro and Keldon Johnson. Plus he still gets to stay somewhat close to home.

I don't know much about Duke this year, but Allen is for sure gone with Bagley and Carter most likely going. I don't know what/who else they have.

Think they'll return Bolden, DeLaurier, O'Connell, and probably Gary Trent.

                        More than enough.

Man, I know things are much better than they were at the end of the Tubby era, but I’m worried cal is getting burnt out. I don’t know if Cal is tired, our assistants aren’t getting it done, or some combination of the two but things aren’t what they have been.

                            Something’s definitely wrong.

They're definitely better than they were at the end of the Tubby era because we still have two top 12 players.

The shocking thing is the striking difference between three years ago to now.

Is it realistic to think Cal could get back to that, or is it more than likely over?
