No big loss. Wouldn’t have been an immediate contributor, and Cal would probably leave before Brown was ever ready to make an impact.

If we can get Wiseman to reclassify, we can still feel really good about next year.

Zion said Kentucky, south carolina and north carolina came to see him last week. He went on to say that he'll make his decision sometime during the middle of the week.

Well, whatever these other coaches are selling, it's nothing compared to what UK and Cal offer....so that makes me think he just truly wants to stay close to home.

Is it possible that Cal and his staff will shift their focus onto EJ Montgomery if they don't get Zion? Most are saying it's between Clemson and SC, but Quickley said a couple of days ago that Kentucky is still definitely in the mix.

Agree. We could be VERY good next year, with or without Zion.

Honestly we all know MOST of the team needs to return next year, but we won't get what we want...I just think the chemistry and experience (know what to work on during the off season)Year 2 would be better. MSU looked a mess first year and this year is a drastic improvement.

I would be shocked if Zion came to UK...like a lot of former players (and Cal) say UK is not for everybody and the kid I've been watching the last two years doesn't seem to be the type to come our way. I always believed he was going to play (in order): UNC, South Carolina, Duke

Almost the entire SEC is experienced this year, so you're getting vets pretty much every time you roll in somewhere. Also virtually every team is more experienced than this Kentucky team. Our only hope is that the old adage of "They're not freshmen by March" is true for this bunch.

I said this in the other forum but my theory on college basketball is either/or. Either you have to have young superstars around one or two vets, or three-/four-year players around a couple of game-changing freshmen. If you have neither is where you run up against trouble.
