If so I'm afraid some of us should be drawing on the walls of caves.

I was finally able to watch the entire game last night. The way this team competed was unbelievable. They were flying around all over the court. They out hustled Arizona State for every loose ball and possession. When you have this kind of talent and combine it with the competitive fire these guys seem to have then it should lead to a great season. It's hard to see too many teams being able to beat them.

Bam was getting to every loose ball early. If he didn't then Willis did. The effort was there too from everyone for nearly the entire game. Maybe just a little let up when the game was within 10 minutes but not really that much.

The rest of the SEC has to be shaking in their boots after seeing this team. UNC and UL have to be sweating a little too trying to figure how to slow this team down. If this team goes through December without a loss we might be able to crank up the undefeated talk again. We'll see.......

Not so fast with the undefeated talk. These kids, although very talented and competitive, are still freshmen. They will be challenged, and teams like Nova, Wisc and maybe VA Tech, are concerns down the road. UL, IU, KU or Duke don't worry me as much at this point.

Wisconsin and Virginia Tech worry you more than Louisville, Kansas, or Duke?

I've seen all five of those teams play at this point. Wisconsin, UofL, Kansas, and Duke I've seen multiple times. I don't know if Kentucky should be worried about any of them, but Wisconsin and Virginia Tech aren't on the level of those three other teams. Louisville is really flawed offensively but the way they can guard could be problematic. Seriously good defensive team. Backcourts win in this sport, and Kansas has one of the best. They'll win 35 or so games behind those guys.

As for Duke, it's harder to get a read on them because of the injuries. But I do know this: if Harry Giles plays, and if he's the player I saw in high school, nobody will beat them. He'll immediately be the best player in the sport the second he steps on the court.

But that's if he's healthy and if he even puts on a uniform this season.

I only said undefeated talk if UK can win out in December. With UNC and a tough UL team on the road that is very much up in the air. Also a date with Kansas in late Jan won't be easy either. Plenty we don't know about this team. How will they handle the road is one of the biggest? Their first true road game won't be until Dec 21. How ill they handle a team that truly slows it down and just pounds the ball inside. The UL game may be a big answer to that.

Another interesting thing about this game is that it will be played at a bright-and-early 9 A.M. for the UCLA guys. Certainly a different feel.

Not sure if that makes any difference, but something to take note of.

I'll start a thread to talk abut the UCLA game. That would be better than here. I'll see if I can move some of these posts too.

I was mostly concerned with the undefeated comment. The tournament is one thing, but we play KU in Lexington, and a UK vs Duke match up will most always be a close game. The others I threw out are teams who have given us fits in the past. Just conversation.
