Matt Jones via Twitter reported that Chuck Smrt said it was probably inappropriate for Louisville to vacate their 2013 championship but it's still possible. IMO, the NCAA will never vacate a title from men's basketball or now football since they have a playoff. Too much to possibly lose for them to do that.

After its all said and done I think it will come down to the punishment as few years probation being closely monitored and Pitino gets fined and maybe a suspension for part of the season. In terms of anything else like scholar ships, tournament, etc non of that gets effected.

Nothing will happen more than a few game suspensions. Nothing.
ESPN media defending Pitino. So is Jay Bilas(I am done with this guy). Instead, they take their wrath on the NCAA for butting in.
        At least Bozich gets it.

What a great message for young people. But then again, this is the new America.

LMAO!!! Good one....never thought of it like that. Good grief!!! I suspect Quick Rick will be gone by the time his ex gets out of prison. Louisville ain't that big of a pond to hold two fish like Pitino and Sypher.

So for all practical purposes it's over. At the worst, Pitino MAY get a ten game suspension and a show cause. McGhee is done as far as coaching. The "penalty" phase like in summer 2017.
17 allegations, four listed as level one. Nothing against the school itself, no lack of institutional control. Those seventeen were confirmed violations.

And the NCAA is all about the kids ya'll.

what a dirty game college sports has become.

No wonder my dirty bird hubby was smiling reading the paper earlier. The NCAA is a shameful joke. NO regard for young athletes. What a mess things are. Kudos to the powers to be at Da Ville for making sure this was taken care of

With all the audits going on at UL, I wonder if anyone will audit the Athletic Dept and see how much they paid McGhee to keep his mouth shut. Because you know someone is paying him.

Of course something happened. They sat the NCAA Tournament. That's a huge deal.

And the Notice of Allegations isn't punishment. Pitino is still going to be suspended, which they'll appeal obviously.

What the NCAA couldn't do was prove that Louisville as a program had lost control of the situation. The "Coach Mike" thing obviously didn't get unraveled.

But, again, when you take the self-imposed NCAA Tournament penalty, the NCAA has shown that they'll be far more lenient on you than if you do nothing.

I agree they did self impose a pretty harsh penalty. Not going to an NCAA tournament is a big deal. They had a good team last year and probably would have made an impact. Also gave a lot of dollars for doing that. I think they also reduced a scholarship or two. But still they aren't taking ownership of the problem. By keeping Pitino around and the AD too they are just blowing off the entire thing. I'm not sure any corporation would keep their CEO around if they had been involved either directly or indirectly in two sexual misconduct affairs.

The fact that Rick Pitino is not just employed but still praised and defended by that group means they have not been punished near enough.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I think something other than RP suspended for a few games, will happen. There were 17 players and recruits involved in this. That's a lot, and this went on for some time. Even if mr saint, RP, didn't know about this which I doubt, he is the Head Coach and it happened on his watch, so he is responsible. He will serve a suspension and I think the program will take a hit also.

We all know the NCAA is a gutless wimp when it comes to certain teams, so we can't speculate much. And, the UNC situation is evidence of that.

Ah, yes. Coach Mike. Forever a mystery? At least to the public and NCAA?
