With my second round pick I'm taking Dinner Bell Mel Turpin to round out my frontcourt.

This the way the picks should be IMO. No one who did not play a second at UK should be eligible. That means Kemp and Kanter. Also means quite a few others too like two others I mentioned who had signed with UK never came for one reason or another. If you include ones that did not play then those whole excercise we are dong becomes a farce. Why not include Ralph Sampson then? He nearly came to UK? Hundreds of others too. If you decide to include ones that only attended UK but never played then I am out. Because like I said this would be a complete farce then.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread I will be gone most of the day. Me and the wife are going to the Kennedy Center for her birthday for an afternoon show and probably won't be back until this evening. So with another pick of mine coming up I may not be here for it until late tonight.

But just so we're clear, we've ruled out freshmen on this year's team, right?

IMO Yes. They haven't played at UK yet and there is always a chance they may not. I hope not but you never know what could happen.

LH is on the clock. He will have the last pick of the 2nd round and then the first pick of the third round.

Now if they would've stayed two years it would have been interesting. DeMarcus Cousins with two years would have been totally unstoppable. Wall could've cleared up the turnover stuff maybe. But going from what actually happened I've never seen a better player than Davis wear the uniform.
Which brings us back to Sam Bowie, could do everything Davis could do and then some, just didn't stay healthy....

I still disagree about Davis and program inpact, didnt we go to NIT the next year? Cousins opened up that recruiting door to big men,not just Calipari point guard commitments....

No reason to think they won't. By "ineligible," I only meant WCN draft status due to having not yet played an official game.

Not sure Bowie could handle the ball like Davis. He may have been able to as that's right at the edge of my memory, but Davis could bring the ball up. I'm convinced he could've played some point guard at the D1 level.

In terms of program impact, nobody probably touches Mashburn.

Not sure a line can be drawn from Cousins to Davis, but I do think the class that Cal brought over from Memphis was big for obvious reasons. But I'm not sure you can single out individual players. Wall maybe just because he was a high school legend and how electric he was, but that was really about that whole class.

And I believe Lighthouse is on the board with two picks.

It's about to get highly interesting as the obvious guys are mostly gone.

I think it's in the modern era. Mashburn started the whole 90's era that set the tone and raised even more expectations. Without that success, why would Calipari want to revamp a program like Kentucky? ?

What if we had landed T Mac and Nowitzki?? Ralph Sampson was mentioned but Barkley also changed over night lol lol

OK, to finish out the second round, my pick is Tayshaun Prince. IF he misses a shot, Boogie will be there to go get it. And he can defend as good as anybody.
