You can argue quite the contrary. Davis did more for the program than arguably anyone. Wall, Cousins, Towns, MKG, etc all belong in the conversation of all time greats for the school. It isn't a straight numbers only game, but the whole what if factor on people who never actually played a game just gets ridiculous because there are no facts at all.

I agree about players who never played but the past players and legends are part of what helped carve the way for the modern players,it all goes hand in hand. If not for the past, the history, Calipari never comes to Kentucky and neither does his star studded cast.

Did they put on a UK uniform and play? That is what makes you eligible. Actually having minutes logged in a UK basketball game that is not an exhibition.

I totally disagree about Davis, that goes to Wall and Cousins in regards to the modern era. It really goes back to Jamal Mashburn. His commitment led to 2 titles and a fluke game against Arizona in 97. After the death penalty, Mashburn set the tone for the past 25 years in my opinion. ..If the 90's don't happen, expectations go away and no need to beg Calipari to take the job....

I agree with this and the rule should be as simple as if you played in a "real" (not an exhibition) game then the player is eligible.

Right. There will always be some debate due to the changes of the game, one and done, etc but there's no denying the numbers. That being said, if some of the guys we have had recently had stuck around he might not still hold the scoring record, but that's where the debate comes in.

Wow, I apologize for "calling the shots" although I wasn't meaning to come across that way. I was the one trying to select Kemp. The more I thought about it the more I felt like they should have worn the uniform and played in a game. I have always enjoyed this board and yes, I was on it years ago but I changed screen names (can't remember my previous one). Chill out big guy...I'll go back to how I was before and simply come here and read everyone's thoughts.

We have to a little. If not we would all just be drafting 3 and 4 year players to go solely on numbers. The numbers are definitely a big part of the debate but there's no denying the importance and influence of some of the one year guys. Numbers wise Davis is no where near a guy like Erik Daniels but I bet I know who 100% of us are taking. There's a certain debate factor that will come into play but that's the fun of it.
