    Ben Simmons

Man. This kid's good. Looking like a generational type of talent.

I watched him for the first time last night. This guy does have talent just running out his ears. He should be a great player at the next level.

LSU lost by one point last night to Marquette. Simmons had 20 something points and 20 rebounds. LSU had a chance to win it in the last possession. Simmons had the ball twice and passed it away both times. That wasn't good IMO. It also shows the lack of coaching once again by LSU. You have to have practiced this scenario all the time. The only play for LSU to run is give to Simmons, clear out and let him go to the basket. They just passed it around and someone else shot a wild three pointer. LSU should have pressed all night long too. Marquette's guard weren't very good and whenever LSU pressed they couldn't handle it. But in Jonny Jones like fashion they didn't press much. Marquette does one have good freshman in Ellenson. Other than they are at best a fringe NCAA team

Also Missouri is bad. Real bad. I doubt they win seven games this season.

Also watched part of Indiana and Wake Forest in the Maui tournament. Indiana can score but they can't guard anyone. Pretty much a typical Crean team. They will make the NCAA's but probably won't go far. Wake isn't a bad team. They may surprise a few in the ACC. Good inside play and guards aren't bad. Danny Manning seems to be getting it together down there. WF won this game by making a big comeback in the last 10 minutes. IU couldn't stop one of WF's guards from taking it to the basket the last last two time they had the ball.

Simmons is very good. Just controlled, super-skilled, does virtually everything. Made a terrible mistake signing up for Johnny Jones, but it won't matter because he'll be a first team AA and a millionaire in six months.

Indiana and Wake was a very good game. Tom Crean's teams never guard. Seriously, never. Not sure if there's a worse defensive coach in the power conferences than Crean. It's almost like he doesn't even pay attention to it. He's the anti-Cal in a lot of ways.

That Vandy/Indiana game today was going to be a good one. I'd say Vandy handles Wake Forest pretty easily.

Yea that was too bad. Would have been high scoring fun game to watch. WF had a long drought in that IU game. IU didn't take advantage and put them away. Vandy will do that. I'll have to check the time of that game though. I would like to see Vandy.

I will say that the UK/LSU games should be highly entertaining this year. You know LSU will be ready to play us. They should be some running, high scoring games. UK goes to LSU Jan 5th and LSU comes to Lexington the last day of the regular season.

I'm so happy that College Basketball season is underway. Lots of fun games to watch. Simmons is quite a talent. He''ll be fun to play against. Indiana losing was a hoot.
I love College Basketball. Can't wait for tonight and the Cats' game! GO CATS!

Well, I actually think there was a guy out there who was at least in Simmons' zipcode: Henry Ellenson.

He's a little less heralded than guys like Skal and Simmons, but he's tremendous.

I listened to the pregame of the IU game last night and they had Wake radio guy on. He thought they had no chance. Talked about one guy being hurt, one suspended and Wake playing walkons. Said if they stopped transition and limited IU's 3 point shooting they might be able to stay close otherwise it would get ugly. Then they go out and win.

And the only thing worse than Crean's defensive coaching is his end of game coaching. 3.5 seconds to go and you use 2 timeouts to draw up a 3/4 court pass to the wrong team?

I loved how Bill Walton was lamenting all the time outs taken at the end. I think he was wanting to get back to the beach.

Wish that guy would stay at the beach. If there is a worse announcer than him I have never heard them.

I've been watching Ben since he was a Sophomore in HS at Montverde HS and I saw him play junior year at a Nike EYBL tournament; he played for E1T1. Athletic, good vision of the floor, good passer, nice size. He committed to LSU his Sophomore year because he felt comfortable with his God Father being there as an assistant coach. Had that not been the case I truly believe it would've been open-season/may the best program win recruiting Simmons...Coach Jones/LSU would not be in the picture.

LSU currently getting handled by a mediocre North Carolina State team.

LSU is going to get beat in overtime.

Johnny Jones manages to bring the nation's best player into Brooklyn and not win a game against two average teams.

Nice work if I do say so myself.

                              LSU going to lose again.

To be fair, they have two starters out. Will be a totally different team when they why those two back.

Not sure the past two games really tell you anything about LSU or how good they may or may not be be
