It's a good thing he didn't come to UK. Cal would have had to make a liar out of himself. That bit about "you don't shoot it 20 times here" would have been busted. That's a guy you go to every time down the floor. If you don't, well,... you look as stupid as Jones does.

I would say the reason he didn't come to UK was he knew he wouldn't be able to shoot the ball 25 times a game. LSU had a player once who averaged a ton of points a game but never played in the NCAA tournament. Simmons may be repeating history this year.

No. They have two starters out.

Craig Victor - transfer from Arizona. Eligible to play in 2 weeks.
Keith Hornsby - supposed to be back by January 1.

They will be a much different and better team when these two guys come back.

Keith Hornsby is one of them. Solid player but I can't imagine that he could completely rearrange them or anything. They really don't do anything well; Pomeroy has them in the 90s in both offense and defense. This is with a one-in-a-million kind of talent on the team.

Hornsby can shoot pretty well but that's about it. The thing I remember about him is that he missed some big shots against UK last year when LSU had a chance to beat them. Now if he can get his dad to put on a concert before the game then we are talking.

LSU was beaten by Houston tonight. They gave up 105. Hornsby was back and had 30-something. Simmons fouled out.

They're 4-4 now which is incredible and shocking.

How is this shocking?? Everybody said LSU should be good IF they could overcome Jones's coaching lol....

I guess coaching really does matter no matter how much talent you have...

There are probably at least a dozen people on this board alone who could coach better than that stiff..

LSU lost to Wake Forest in Baton Rouge last night. Looks like Simmons will be in the NIT this year. LSU will probably have finish in the top two in the SEC to get a bid, if they get one then. They certainly need to beat UK once and probably twice to make it.

Florida also lost to Florida State last night.

As mediocre as LSU is, I expect that place to be rocking and packed in a "gold out" or whatever next week.
