Momcilovic = $6M Man?

Well before Friday we heard that it could come this weekend. Some saying Saturday but others saying by Monday morning we would know. We have all day today I will not worry about this at all. If we get him great! If we miss on him he is just another in a long line of guys that never wanted to play at UK and used us to get the most he could out of other teams. I do not see gets and misses any more. I see guys that use us instead of outright misses.

Who knows if he wants to play at UK or for Pope. Only his decision will tell us. I got a feeling he will be a wildcat but it might be a different wildcat. Either way it will be the last big bit of news till this fall. If Pope is smart, he would keep info out of the public as much as possible over the summer.. That is with our without Mom..

Watched some videos from a guy who follows UK yesterday and he sees this recruitment falling into the same pattern as a lot of our lost recruits. And it made sense. He listed the five phases.
1. Player enters portal or is recruited by UK
2. UK emerges as front runner for player.
3. Radio Silence.
4. New team emerges as front runner
5. Player signs with another team.

We are in the radio silence phase at the moment trending towards phase 4. And if he ends up at UofL, that should all but end any speculation Pope gets a year 4. There is no excuse for that.

Do not know them but we shall see.

That's the thing that sucks about X now. It used to be where you could differentiate between actual sources and some random guy. Now you can't tell one from the other.

As far as the money being given out. It's simply not sustainable. There is going to have to be drastic changes in athletic departments for this to be the new normal. UK Athletics (and most athletic departments) doesn't just have an extra $30 - $40 million sitting around every year for rev share and pushing donors towards NIL instead of giving to the department. It simply cannot work.

Exactly. The NCAA is going to HAVE TO step in and place rules, regulations and restrictions on the number of times a player can transfer, age eligibility, and salary caps for teams AND for players. I'm not going to say it is getting out of hand, it's already gotten out of hand.

Lot of opinion out there discussing how Mom is doing anything and everything not to be a UK wildcat. I am sure most are probably Louisville fan types of stuff but you have to admit that if UK has been the whole time the strongest offer, playing time and money and he continues to weigh decision then it would appear that the guy really does not want to be here. Heck who knows at this point.

ESPN speculating that it might take $6M to land Momcilovic. Is anyone in CBB worth that much? Especially if Moreno comes back, is he still a 'must get'? If he's that good, why is the NBA not throwing truckloads of Benjamins at him?

I don’t know what Milan is waiting on but if this guy decides to go elsewhere when all this money is supposedly on the table and where he will more than likely be the focal point of the offense and have a green light to shoot at will, UK has some serious soul searching to do.

I've read reports that he's not a very good defensive player.

. Good shooter, poor defense, little rebounding. There is a reason the NBA didn't have him listed higher in the draft. If UL wants to pay the exorbitant price tag, I say let them have him.
