So what is going on with you tonight. I pray for peace for your heart and soul. I pray you look at this community as family. I pray you feel grace and healing. Amen
This is a community / family. A family you chose to join. I hope that you will have peace of heart and stay around but you seem to want to be cast out. Not sure why. Have a blessed and calm evening.Proverbs 25:24👍 5Comment

Jules Camara 2.0/Ndiaye..
Watched a little film on him, he may be a little better than advertised, I like the pick up.
Stokes, need a big time recruit to say that we can still recruit.

All true. I agree with everything you said....sadly, even the part about being tired of worrying about a bunch of 18-22 year olds. It is tiring. I feel hypocritical saying that, though, coming on the heels of being so vocally passionate earlier about UK basketball and having another forum member commend me for it, but I simply can't put the blinders on and pretend that the sinking Titanic is in fine shape. I'd feel like the Kevin Bacon character in Animal House telling everyone to "remain calm, all is well" as chaos is breaking out all around me and I'm about to be trampled over.
I have to agree with this and honestly, it started with Calipari subliminaly calling us crazy so he could deflect eyes off him because he had good players and still sucked plenty of times..
I don't say much anymore because after 20 plus years on this site, im tired of worrying about a bunch of 18-22 year old anyways.
Still, Kentucky is a bottom feeder almost a decade now, been slowly going down since the Wisconsin loss..
First and foremost I blame Barnhardt. Lifetime contracts all of the above. His supporters will point out baseball football badminton tennis and all the crap nobody cares about, Kentucky is and will always be a basketball school period.. The basketball built and funded lt all going back decades.
I think Pope has the passion and loyalty to give it all he has to the best of his abilities, i question and wonder if that's going to be enough hope he learned a valuable lesson this year and is not to smart and stubborn to make the changes..
I keep waiting for Duke to come back to reality now that Coach K is gone, just like UCLA did after Wooden and Indiana did after Knight, but it ain't happening. Unfortunately , I see us heading in the direction that I had hoped for Duke (thanks, Mitch). I think we're destined to have 5th, 6th and 7th place finishes in the SEC with a 24-12 type regular season with no SEC tournament titles while getting an "at large" bid for March Madness as we await our 5 through 8 seed and first or second round exit on a yearly basis. I think that's probably Pope's ceiling while his floor isn't much lower. After all, he is the very definition of mediocre. He's just good enough to keep some fans happy.....most of them being other team's fan bases who know that we're in a bad situation and they can guilt us into remaining silent because "how can you (we) call for your coach who is a former champion alum who wins 24 games every year to be fired?". This will go on for probably another 3 or 4 more years before somebody finally has had enough (a big NIL donor type) and starts to remove money from the equation.Last edited by UKHoops01; 4 days ago.👍 2Comment

I agree with a lot of what UKHoops01 is saying in that last post, but where I disagree is with the timing of it. Pope had a decent first year. He did not have a good second year.
But this portal stuff is still on going and the criticisms and anger from people, media, etc. are mostly based on very partial information.
We'll never know how much was offered by us or our competition or if the player ever had any intention at all of committing to UK. Or if UK really wanted them.
?????
Also, roster assembly is not over. Not by a long shot. Stokes is still out there. Not all portal guys committed. International players are still out there. We have guys with their names in the draft who will be returning to schools and now we may very well have Fifth year players coming back.
I think it's wise to wait and see the results on the court rather than automatically assuming the worst every time some talking head looking for clicks makes up info to make us look bad. I don't care if we have 8 Winnie the Poohs on the team as long as they win.👍 2Comment

Needing a backup PF/C with some muscle, IMHO. I think that’s the next piece we need to add.
Then a backup guard. Preferably a shooter (Morton?).
Get those two spots filled and Stokes and we are in as good a shape as we could be.Comment

Anyone heard anything about Daeshun Ruffin?
He enters the portal and is applying for a 5th year.
He played for Mo Williams at Jackson State.
If he is granted a fifth year, then he could be a decent backup guard for us.
Just curious. I can’t find any news on him since March 30th when he enters the portal.Comment
