Part of it is going after too many players. You have 15 spots on a team, for sure you have 3 coming back leaving 12. At most I can see going after about 25 total for those 12 spots. Getting close and personal to those guys. He has to get the first guy (hopefully a PG) to get signed to see whom will follow.

I too thought Zoom would be backup or a dual PG type of situation. Hope the new staff lead recruiter is getting the opportunities for UK to make the final cut on Wright or PG 2 / 3 in the portal. I think Zoom is PG 5 and is 33 in portal ranking. Not too shabby. If he can get Stokes to UK then get him, but doubt many players have that kind of pull.

Pretty logical. Pope well knew what he was stepping in to. This is not the place to have seasons line last year. He knows he must get the players. The next few days could be very critical.

I don’t get the excitement for Diallo at all. Unless Stokes comes with him. Otherwise he is a PG who can’t shoot or pass and is a 40ish ranked transfer.

I know we are desperate but Diallo is not a star or a stud in any way.
I'm not upset about missing on Thomas, but I am kinda upset that we appear to be "so in" on Diallo. Diallo seems to me like more of a backup option in case we miss out on all the guys that should be ranked ahead of him. While I'm not as negative on him as you sound like you are, I'm certainly not as bullish on him as some in our fan base sound like they are. I think some people just like him because he goes by "Zoom".

Without knowing all the details, even if they were just rumors (which I highly doubt they were) it was pretty obvious that this team was not a cohesive unit. They didn't seem to mesh well on the court, so I tend to believe the off-the-court innuendo.

And this again needs to go in the roster thread and not the portal thread. We all got to stay on task. I see how easy it is because we just respond to each other but lets all try to get it back to this being incoming portal or portal guys. And roster talk of last year under roster talk. Sorry guys.
