It's becoming apparent that the top tier talent doesn't want to play for him. I guess all our eggs are in Stokes basket. If he blows us off we're absolutely cooked.
Agree with everything you said, except the "we are cooked" part. While a longshot, they could add Momcilovic and Graves and miss out on Stokes and be in great shape. So it doesn't completely come down to Stokes. BUT...since he's listed Kentucky in his final 2, he is obviously the best option. But even Stokes knows one player doesn't win it all for a team.... that's why he was vocal about wanting to see what kind of roster was assembled before making his commitment. Still need to add a really good PF and probably another dead-eye 3-point shooter for the backcourt.

Portal will close tonight. Still time to get good guys, but I am not holding my breath on any big name type deals. Crazy we have only picked up two guys (who I do like) with the amount of playing time we will have available next year.

While the Portal closes tonight, any player who declares his intentions to transfer before it closes can set his own timetable for choosing a school. Plus there is still the foreign players to consider.

Devin Askew is old enough to have a kid in the portal!

Wild to think he started college ball during the covid year, and is trying his best to get a 7th year.

Now that all teams can do summer foreign trips, I would expect most of the cream of the crop to be signed before summer session starts and teams start practicing to go on those foreign trips.

Some are saying Oregon is in play for Stokes.

I am not sure he wants either UK or KU at this point, and this gives him an easy out while keeping Nike happy.

I think he wanted to go to KU, but the money isn’t right and he hates Adidas shoes.

At UK the money is right, and the shoes are right, but knows Pope will be under heavy scrutiny and that creates drama.

So the happy medium may be Oregon, where he probably gets the same money as at UK, can wear his favorite shoes, and not have to deal with the Pope drama.

Hearing rumors that Nolan Winter from Wisconsin may hit the portal.

                            6’11, 220 PF, 13ppg, 8.5rpg, 33% from 3.

He’s Carr 2.0, IMHO. I think he is better than Carr defensively speaking.

Perfect fit for Pope at PF.
